The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani, received today the Minister of Tourism of the State of Israel Haim Katz. President Osmani welcomed the signing of the Joint Declaration between the Ministry of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade of the Republic of Kosovo and the Ministry of Tourism of the State of Israel on cooperation in the field of tourism, underlining the importance of this Declaration in strengthening the cooperation between the two countries in the field of tourism and exchange of experiences. In this direction, President Osmani also expressed the need to finalize the process of lifting of visas for citizens of the Republic of Kosovo, which would affect increased interaction between citizens, businesses and institutions of both countries. The cooperation with Israel in strengthening Kosovo’s international position, including membership in international organizations was also discussed at the meeting. President Osmani expressed her satisfaction with the level of bilateral relations and cooperation between the two countries, while she emphasized that the further strengthening of interstate relations will also be reconfirmed during the official visit of the President to Israel, at the invitation of President Herzog.
President Osmani Meets Slovenian President Nataša Pirc Musar
The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, met with the President of the Republic of Slovenia, Nataša Pirc Musar, as part of the meeting of the leaders of the countries participating in the Brdo-Brijuni Process, which is being held in Skopje. At the meeting, President Osmani appreciated the partnership between the two countries, stressing that Kosovo remains grateful for Slovenia’s active role in supporting Kosovo’s European future. In this context, President Osmani emphasized the need for further Slovenian support, adding that Kosovo’s state and strategic goal remains membership in the EU and NATO, but also other international organizations where the interests of Kosovo’s citizens will be advanced. President Osmani and counterpart Pirc Musar also discussed the current developments in Kosovo and the region. According to President Osmani, the close cooperation between the two countries is effective in maintaining regional peace and stability, since Slovenia is an example for the implementation of the necessary reforms for membership in the Euro-Atlantic structures. In relation to the dialogue with Serbia and the escalation of the situation in the country’s north, President Osmani underlined that Kosovo has taken substantive steps in this direction and will have a constructive attitude in the entire dialogue process. However, President Osmani added that the only way for long-term peace and stability is when the final result of the dialogue with Serbia is mutual recognition and preservation of the territorial integrity, sovereignty, constitutional order and institutional functionality of the Republic of Kosovo. The interlocutors reaffirmed the commitment to continue deepening friendly relations and close cooperation between Kosovo and Slovenia. The two heads of state also discussed a wide range of topics, including increasing cooperation in the field of economy, empowering women and youth, the green agenda, etc.
President Osmani: Ratification of the Berlin Process agreements facilitates communication and increases exchanges between Kosovo and Bosnia and Herzegovina
The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, met with members of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Željko Komšić and Denis Bećirović in the series of bilateral meetings as part of the meeting of the leaders of the countries participating in the Brdo-Brijuni Process in Skopje. At the meeting, the ratification of the Berlin Process agreements by the Parliament of Bosnia and Herzegovina was discussed among other things, an obligation arising from the signing of the agreements in November of the previous year. President Osmani emphasized that the ratification of the agreements by the BiH authorities is, in addition to an obligation, a necessity that will help the free movement of citizens of both countries, contributing to the increase of communication and exchanges between the two peoples. According to President Osmani, the Assembly of Kosovo and the four states of the region have ratified the agreements of the Berlin Process, one of which foresees the movement regime only with identity cards with Bosnia and Herzegovina, so it is the turn for Bosnia and Herzegovina to do the same. In addition, President Osmani estimated that the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two states would increase the possibilities for deepening bilateral cooperation in all areas of mutual interest. President Osmani emphasized that achieving the common vision of both countries to be part of the Euro-Atlantic family would contribute to peace, stability and long-term prosperity in the region.
President Osmani at the Brdo-Brioni Summit: It is a strategic interest for Kosovo to be granted candidate status by the European Union
The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, delivered a speech at the annual meeting of regional leaders within the Brdo-Brioni Process. In her joint session speech, she emphasized that Kosovo is determined to continue dynamic reforms that further strengthen democracy, support the rule of law, and improve living standards for all citizens, regardless of their background. While our application for membership in the Council of Europe is under consideration by the Parliamentary Assembly, it is important for Kosovo to move forward with candidate status in the EU, in line with the EU’s commitment to membership perspective for all Western Balkan states. Since the last meeting of this process, President Osmani highlighted that Kosovo has made significant progress in various aspects. “Kosovo is a reliable partner, a good neighbour and a hardworking partner. Therefore, the opportunity for greater mobility of our citizens in the Schengen area is also a great opportunity to prove this to everyone in the EU”, emphasized President Osmani. In this context, she mentioned progress in international indices related to combating crime and corruption, human rights, the area of information technology, etc. In a part of her speech, addressing this year’s summit topic, President Osmani also talked about the effects of climate change and stated that Kosovo is committed to its green future. She said that the green transition is a good opportunity for job generation, increased productivity and energy security. Regarding the perspective of Kosovo’s youth, President Osmani mentioned that more than half of Kosovo’s population is under 30 years old, and therefore, in her opinion, building an environment where opportunities for social and economic development are readily available is a priority so that they can build their future in Kosovo.
President Osmani met the President of Croatia Zoran Milanović
The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani, in the continuation of the bilateral meetings within the Brdo-Brijuni Process, met with the President of Croatia Zoran Milanović. President Osmani emphasized that Croatia is one of Kosovo’s key allies in the region and within the Euro-Atlantic structures, and that the relations between the two states are built on the ties of friendship that historically exist between the two states. She expressed her gratitude for all the support that Croatia has provided to the strengthening of the state of Kosovo. The two leaders also discussed the situation in Kosovo and the region, reiterating the commitment to peace and stability. President Osmani informed President Milanovic with the security challenges in the north of the country, being caused by illegal structures that are organized, paid and encouraged by Serbia. President Osmani also reiterated Kosovo’s intention to join the EU, NATO and the Council of Europe, where Kosovo’s application is currently being processed within the Parliamentary Assembly. She appreciated the support from Croatia as crucial to all these processes. The meeting of the two presidents within the Brdo-Brijuni Process was also focused on the commitment of Kosovo and Croatia to the promotion of regional cooperation, addressing vital issues such as European integration, the perspective of young people and other topics of mutual interest. President Osmani and President Milanović, among other things, also discussed and expressed readiness to increase cooperation in the field of foreign policy, defence, economy, as well as in other spheres of mutual interest.

During this meeting, President Osmani reaffirmed her commitment to the continuation of excellent and sustainable relations with North Macedonia and emphasized that both countries have a shared vision for a stable Western Balkans integrated into Euro-Atlantic structures. In this context, President Osmani raised the need for North Macedonia to continue supporting Kosovo’s membership in international organizations, thanking this state for its ongoing support. President Osmani stated that with the support of friendly countries, Kosovo can make substantive progress in the EU and NATO accession process and that the country’s progress on this path contributes to long-term peace and stability in the region. President Osmani informed her counterpart, President Pendarovski, of the steps taken by Kosovo to de-escalate the situation in the northern part of the country and emphasized the need for a unified response against destabilizing efforts by Russia’s satellites and organized crime groups. In this meeting, among other things, both Presidents emphasized the importance of strengthening political, economic and cultural relations between their two countries and expressed mutual commitment to promoting regional peace and stability.

President Osmani participates at the Brdo-Brione Process meeting of regional leaders being held in Skopje
The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani has departed for the Republic of North Macedonia to participate at the annual meeting of the heads of state of the region within the Brdo-Brione Process. At the joint session with leaders of the region, President Osmani will deliver a speech and will later hold bilateral meetings with the heads of several participating states. The Brdo-Brione meeting is an annual multilateral event in which the presidents of the six countries of the Western Balkans as well as Slovenia and Croatia meet, with the main focus on the process of enlargement of the European Union and the membership of the region in the EU. The central topics of this year’s meeting are the acceleration of the EU membership process, the fight against and reduction of the consequences of climate change in the region as well as the creation of conditions for the stay of young people in the Western Balkans. The Brdo-Brione process is a regional initiative co-founded by the Slovenian and Croatian presidents in 2010. During the stay in North Macedonia, President Osmani, alongside President Stevo Pendarovski and the President of Albania Bajram Begaj will participate in the inauguration ceremony of the bust of Saint Teresa on the grounds of the Embassy of the Republic of Kosovo in Skopje.
