The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, who is participating in the Brdo-Brioni summit in Skopje alongside other regional leaders, held a meeting with the host of the summit, the President of North Macedonia, Stevo Pendarovski.
During this meeting, President Osmani reaffirmed her commitment to the continuation of excellent and sustainable relations with North Macedonia and emphasized that both countries have a shared vision for a stable Western Balkans integrated into Euro-Atlantic structures.
In this context, President Osmani raised the need for North Macedonia to continue supporting Kosovo’s membership in international organizations, thanking this state for its ongoing support.
President Osmani stated that with the support of friendly countries, Kosovo can make substantive progress in the EU and NATO accession process and that the country’s progress on this path contributes to long-term peace and stability in the region.
President Osmani informed her counterpart, President Pendarovski, of the steps taken by Kosovo to de-escalate the situation in the northern part of the country and emphasized the need for a unified response against destabilizing efforts by Russia’s satellites and organized crime groups.
In this meeting, among other things, both Presidents emphasized the importance of strengthening political, economic and cultural relations between their two countries and expressed mutual commitment to promoting regional peace and stability.
