President Osmani met with the President of Kenya, William Ruto
The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani, who is currently in New York where the 78th session of the United Nations Assembly is being held, had a meeting today with the President of Kenya, William Ruto. President Osmani thanked her counterpart Ruto following Kenya’s decision to recognize the passports of the Republic of Kosovo and at the same time she expressed the need to expand diplomatic relations to the benefit of citizens and both states. “We are looking forward to the undertaking of joint steps that will bring our countries and nations closer together,” said President Osmani. The possibility of economic cooperation between Kosovo and Kenya was discussed among other issues at the meeting, as well as the promotion of commercial and economic exchange. During the meeting, President Osmani also spoke about Kosovo’s commitment to sustainable development and the possibility of joint initiatives in areas such as renewable energy and climate change.
President Osmani met with a group of associations of the Albanian community in the USA
The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani, who is staying in New York where the 78th session of the United Nations Assembly is being held, upon the organization of the activist of the Albanian diaspora and philanthropic services Mr. Mark Gjonaj, met with a group of Albanian community organizations from Kosovo, Albania, North Macedonia, Preshevë, Medvegjë, Bujanoc and Montenegro, which are active in the USA. According to President Osmani, this meeting with the Albanian diaspora is evidence of strong and stable ties between the people of Kosovo, as well as the Albanian community in general with the United States of America. In this context, President Osmani thanked the Albanian community, which, in addition to strengthening Kosovo’s ties with the USA, has helped the state of Kosovo in the processes of liberation, independence and state building. “You are the driving force of many processes that Kosovo has gone through. Freedom and our state are the result of the continuous engagement of our expats here so, thank you for everything you have done and are still doing. We are still in need your engagement. Kosovo needs your support and that of the USA. I know that you do not hesitate, so we expect that together, without distinction, commit ourselves to strengthen our country, in addition to supporting and coordinating with our allies,” said President Osmani. President Osmani also expressed the need to preserve and promote our culture and heritage in the United States, for which she said that the most important role is played by associations, which bring together Albanians. In a conversation with the members of the diaspora, President Osmani said that Kosovo expects their support also in the field of investments. According to President Osmani, a suitable climate for investments has already been created in Kosovo and that investments from the diaspora are more than welcome. Representatives of the associations that bring together Albanians in the USA thanked President Osmani for the meeting and expressed their steadfast support for Kosovo and their commitment to helping various initiatives aimed at the development and well-being of the state.
President Osmani participated at the marking of the 10th anniversary of Women Leaders in Politics
The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani, who is currently in New York for the 78th Session of the United Nations Assembly, participated at the ceremony marking the 10th anniversary of Women Leaders in Politics. In an address to other women leaders, President Osmani spoke of the engagements and the prominent role of women in different time periods of the country’s development history. She emphasized that Kosovo, in the 15 years of its independence, stands out for the leadership of women in politics, emphasizing the importance of continuous cooperation and networking in order to empower women in public life. In her address, President Osmani also pointed out that Kosovo is proving to be a leading country in the leadership of the Agenda for Women, Peace and Security and emphasized that the empowerment of women in the field of security, as well as in other fields, is the best opportunity for them advance the society as a whole.
President Osmani met with the King of Jordan, Abdullah II
The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani, who is currently in New York where the 78th session of the United Nations Assembly is being held, met with the King of Jordan Abdullah II, whom she thanked for the continuous support provided since1999 i, as well as at the ICJ. In this context, President Osmani laid out the need for further support from the Kingdom of Jordan in Kosovo’s efforts to secure membership in international organizations and recognitions by Arab countries. President Osmani and King Abdullah II discussed the current situation in Kosovo and the region, with both parties reaffirming their commitment to peace and stability. According to President Osmani, there is potential for cooperation in the field of defense between the two countries. In this context, she mentioned the fact that a team of Jordanian soldiers have recently been trained at our Search and Rescue training centre. Furthermore, President Osmani said that Kosovo is interested in developing close relations with Jordan in areas of mutual interest, such as economy, trade, defense, culture, education and tourism. Both leaders expressed optimism for the future of cooperation between the two countries.

The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani departed to New York, where she will be holding meetings with world leaders and international organizations within the framework of the 78th session of the United Nations Assembly. Madam President has been invited together with the First Gentleman Prindon Sadriu, to attend the official reception organized by the US President Joe Biden. The First Gentleman has also been invited to attend a special reception, organized by the First Lady of the USA Jill Biden. During this visit, Madam President, at meetings with her counterparts will be discussing the latest developments in Kosovo, as well as Kosovo’s goals for establishing relations with UN member states and its membership in international organizations. She will also participate in numerous activities and discussions organized by the allied countries. In addition to meetings, Madam President will also hold talks at some of the most prestigious US universities and institutions. On President Osmani agenda are also a series of joint activities with the Albanian diaspora in the US as well as with certain associations carrying out its activities in the USA.
President Osmani met with Baroness Ashton and former US diplomat Philip Reeker
The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani, participated today at a working lunch with the former EU High Representative for foreign policy Baroness Catherine Ashton, and the former US diplomat Philip Reeker. US Ambassador Jeffrey Hovenier, UK Ambassador Nicholas Abbott, French Ambassador Olivier Guérot, Norwegian Ambassador Jens Erik Grøndahl, Deputy Head of the EU Office Eva Palatova as well as the Deputy Ambassador of Germany Matthias Conrad were also present. During the meeting, the progress and recent developments in the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue process were discussed, as well as the need for its successful conclusion as a direct contribution to long-term peace and stability in the region.

Amendment no. 05 of the grant agreement for development objectives was signed by President Osmani on behalf of the Republic of Kosovo and by the USAID Acting Mission Director Mrs. Kerry Monaghan Hogler, on behalf of USAID. The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani chaired the meeting of the Consultative Council for Communities, where she discussed the challenges and concerns faced by communities. According to President Osmani, employment regardless of affiliation, preservation and implementation of the multilingual character of Kosovar society which represents its unique spiritual, intellectual, historical and cultural values, are some of the daily priorities and engagements. At the meeting with the KKK, President Osmani emphasized that this mechanism gives communities the opportunity to be involved in legislative initiatives and, as a result, advance their position in Kosovo. Furthermore, President Osmani emphasized that the Office of the President held continuous meetings with other institutions and requested the implementation of the recommendations made by this Council. “We engage in daily basis to ensure equal opportunities for employment in order to fulfil the rights of all citizens of Kosovo, regardless of affiliation, as a substantive prerequisite for sustainable economic development and realization of everyone’s potential,” said President Osmani. Regarding the issue of language and the implementation of rights during the announcement of employment opportunities in the official languages in the Republic of Kosovo, President Osmani has emphasized that they are a priority and that concrete results are expected soon, especially in the Ministry of Defense and the Kosovo Police. According to the President, only in this manner may non-majority communities realize their potential. During the Consultative Council for Communities meeting, certain recommendations and other issues related to communities were also discussed.
President Osmani received the incoming KFOR Commander, Major General Özkan Ulutaş
Prior to assuming the office of the new KFOR Commander, the President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani yesterday received Major General Özkan Ulutaş, accompanied by the current Commander, Major General Angelo Michele Ristuccia. On this occasion, President Osmani expressed full confidence in the close cooperation with General Ulutaş during his leadership of KFOR, in attainment of common goals for peace and security in Kosovo and in the region. President Osmani also emphasized at the meeting the need for increasing and expansion of cooperation between KFOR and the institutions of the Republic of Kosovo, in order to effectively manage the challenges of the regional security environment and beyond. She informed the incoming KFOR commander with these security challenges, which in the north of the country are caused by illegal structures led by Serbia, which also led the attacks on KFOR members on May 29th, as well as consecutive attacks on Kosovo police and journalists.
