The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani, who is currently in New York where the 78th session of the United Nations Assembly is being held, met with the King of Jordan Abdullah II, whom she thanked for the continuous support provided since1999 i, as well as at the ICJ.
In this context, President Osmani laid out the need for further support from the Kingdom of Jordan in Kosovo’s efforts to secure membership in international organizations and recognitions by Arab countries.
President Osmani and King Abdullah II discussed the current situation in Kosovo and the region, with both parties reaffirming their commitment to peace and stability.
According to President Osmani, there is potential for cooperation in the field of defense between the two countries. In this context, she mentioned the fact that a team of Jordanian soldiers have recently been trained at our Search and Rescue training centre.
Furthermore, President Osmani said that Kosovo is interested in developing close relations with Jordan in areas of mutual interest, such as economy, trade, defense, culture, education and tourism. Both leaders expressed optimism for the future of cooperation between the two countries.
