At the invitation of the United States of America, President Vjosa Osmani participated at the high-level meeting dedicated to the Women, Peace and Security (WPS) agenda. At the event held at the UN headquarters, President Osmani communicated Kosovo’s achievements and objectives in terms of the implementation of the Agenda for Women, Peace and Security. Madam President highlighted the exceptional role that the women of Kosovo have played in peace and security processes throughout the various stages of history. She emphasized that Kosovo is already leading the efforts in the region in the implementation of this agenda. Moreover, Madam President also stated that Kosovo is ready to contribute at the international level to the implementation of this agenda, highlighting Kosovo’s efforts to help women in Ukraine, Afghanistan and in every country where serious violations of human rights are taking place. President Osmani also spoke about the Global Women, Peace and Security Forum, which is being held this year for the second time in Kosovo, and announced that Kosovo will soon be the host country of the regional centre of excellence for Women, Peace and Security. Secretary Blinken’s office highlighted Kosovo’s achievements in this regard and the work of the President dedicated to this agenda, naming Kosovo as one of the best examples of this commitment.

The colonel was killed, but not the freedom, ideal, dream, and his lifelong engagement. There is someone to write about the colonel today and forever because he is our history, he is the history of the state of Kosovo. The colonel’s activity is based on the legacy of his father, who was also a freedom fighter for the nation. Our freedom is a testament left by Colonel Ahmeti and hundreds of his heroes, comrades-in-arms and collaborators. Kosovo’s freedom will have more meaning when we fulfill our debt to the colonel by bringing his murderer to light. May the memory of Colonel Ahmet Krasniq be eternal!

The Compact Program has a value of 236.7 million dollars and is the largest post-war investment in the field of energy, which will have a strategic role in the energy transition process in Kosovo. President Osmani emphasized that investments like the MCC one, reflect Kosovo’s relationship with the USA, a strategic ally and great supporter during all stages, more than the monetary value it carries.

President Osmani also expressed her gratitude for the continuous support provided by the USA and emphasized that Kosovo is interested in moving forward in its Euro-Atlantic path, with the support and in coordination with allies.
