President Osmani met in New York with the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) Chief Executive Officer Alice Albright

The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani, who is staying in New York where the 78th session of the United Nations Assembly is being held, met with the Chief Executive Officer of the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC), Alice Albright.

President Osmani expressed her gratitude for the MCC’s continuous support to economic development, respectively through investments in the Kosovo energy sector via the Compact Program.

According to President Osmani, this program will provide a strategic contribution to the improvement of the energy infrastructure, strengthen the private sector and shall promote economic opportunities for the citizens of Kosovo.

The possibilities for improved governance and creation of an increasingly favorable environment for businesses and foreign investors through such support was also discussed at the meeting.

The Compact Program has a value of 236.7 million dollars and is the largest post-war investment in the field of energy, which will have a strategic role in the energy transition process in Kosovo.

President Osmani emphasized that investments like the MCC one, reflect Kosovo’s relationship with the USA, a strategic ally and great supporter during all stages, more than the monetary value it carries.
