The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani, was received at the NATO headquarters by Admiral Rob Bauer, Chairman of the NATO Military Committee. The extraordinary NATO contribution to the freedom and security of our country, the expansion of Kosovo-NATO cooperation as well as the coordination between the security institutions of the Republic of Kosovo and KFOR were discussed at the meeting. Madam President expressed her deep gratitude for the dedication of women and men of the allied forces in maintaining peace and security in the country and in the region. The latest security developments in the country and the region, including the ongoing attacks upon NATO forces, Kosovo Police, citizens and journalists, by Serbian criminal gangs in the north of the country, on which the President emphasized that security challenges are never individual, but a collective responsibility, were issues also discussed at the meeting. In this spirit, Madam President underlined that the Republic of Kosovo, as a dedicated NATO partner, will continue to work closely with allies to jointly address security challenges, as well as to promote peace and security. President Osmani also spoke about Kosovo’s steadfast determination for NATO membership, and inclusion in the Partnership for Peace Program, underlining the need for creativity and flexibility to facilitate full NATO integration.

The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, was received today in a meeting by the NATO Secretary General, Jens Stoltenberg, at the NATO headquarters. The meeting addressed security developments in the country and various issues of common interest, as well as the need for continuation and deepening of cooperation. In the meeting, President Osmani expressed her profound gratitude for NATO’s enormous contribution to the freedom and security of the people of Kosovo, as well as for maintaining peace in the region. In this spirit, President Osmani reiterated the steadfast commitment of Kosovo’s institutions to continue cooperation with our allies in NATO and the KFOR mission in joint efforts for long-term peace and security. The meeting also discussed the security challenges facing the region and our continent as a result of Russia’s aggression against Ukraine and its people, including destabilizing efforts through its satellites in our region. In this regard, President Osmani emphasized that Kosovo continues to stay on the right side of history, coordinating its foreign and security policy with its allies, and supporting the people of Ukraine. Regarding the recent security developments in the region, including violent attacks in the north of the country by criminal groups supported by Belgrade against NATO forces, Kosovo Police, citizens and journalists, the President stressed the need for accountability for these attacks to prevent their repetition, while she emphasized that Serbia, through its destabilizing efforts, continues to intimidate and threaten the Kosovo Serb citizens, including Serbian police officers of the Kosovo Police and other institutions. Regarding Kosovo’s membership in NATO and inclusion in the Partnership for Peace Programme, President Osmani underlined the strategic importance in this regard. She called for creativity and flexibility to facilitate Kosovo’s integration into the Partnership for Peace Programme as an added value towards full NATO membership. In conclusion, President Osmani reaffirmed Kosovo’s commitment to peace, stability and cooperation with NATO and its allies. She emphasized the need for joint efforts to address security challenges in the region and ensure a secure future for Kosovo and the region in general.

President Osmani travels to Brussels for official meetings at the NATO headquarters
The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, traveled to Brussels for an official visit to the NATO headquarters. On Thursday, at 14:00, President Osmani will be received by the Secretary General of NATO, Jens Stoltenberg, with whom she will hold a bilateral meeting. After the meeting, President Osmani and General Secretary Stoltenberg will address journalists in a joint press conference. During the official visit to NATO, the President will also meet the Chair of the NATO Military Committee, Admiral Rob Bauer. The president will also hold meetings with the US ambassador to NATO, Julianne Smith, as well as with representatives of other allied countries. During the visit, President Osmani will reaffirm the determination of the people and institutions of the Republic of Kosovo to advance the path towards NATO membership, starting with the Partnership for Peace program, strengthening cooperation and coordination with allies, in particular for security issues, the gratitude of the people of Kosovo for the ongoing role and contribution of NATO in Kosovo, as well as the commitment to joint contribution for long-term peace, stability and security in our region.
President Osmani received in a working meeting the KSF Commander Lieutenant General Bashkim Jashari
Prior to departing on an official trip to the NATO headquarters, the President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani received in a working meeting the KSF Commander Lieutenant General Bashkim Jashari. On this occasion, President Osmani, as the Supreme Commander of the KSF, was informed by Lieutenant General Jashari of the current activities and developments in the KSF, with special emphasis on the f implementation process of the Comprehensive Transition Plan during the year 2023 and increasing the wellbeing of the KSF soldiers and servicemen. President Osmani also discussed with Lieutenant General Jashari the cooperation and close coordination with the main strategic partner, the United States of America, as well as with other NATO countries in relation to security issues in the country and the region. Both parties reiterated that our common vision is for the Republic of Kosovo to develop its army in accordance with the standards of NATO member countries, to be an interoperable force in joint missions with allied forces in the service of peace, stability and regional and global security.

They are guardians of our security, of the protection of the sovereignty of the Republic”. The First Gentleman Prindon Sadriu carried out joint activities with the First Lady of Albania Armanda Begaj
The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani, during her two-day state visit to Albania, visiting at the invitation of President Bajram Begaj, was accompanied by the First Gentleman Prindon Sadriu. Apart from joint meetings with President Osmani, the First Gentleman carried out a series of special activities with the First Lady. At the meeting with Ms. Begaj, the First Gentleman Prindon Sadriu thanked her for the magnificent reception for President Osmani and her delegation. The relations between Kosovo and Albania were assessed as excellent, as the First Gentleman and the First Lady pledged their continued commitment to the further expansion of relations in the field of affirming national values and empowering the marginalized groups of the society. The First Gentleman, who is also a reserve military officer, during his state visit to Albania, was also received by the the acting commander of the Defence College Arben Toska, as well as Colonel Emëror Hajdarasi of the Defence Academy of the Republic of Albania. On this occasion, Mr. Sadriu, was informed with the organization, operation and aims for the forthcoming future of the Academy, in addition to the evaluation of the possibilities for expansion of the cooperation between the two academies. The First Gentleman expressed his gratitude to the Academy for the professional training of many KSF cadres over the past decades. Lieutenant Colonel Sadriu, in the capacity of the president of the Association of Reserve Officers of Kosovo, also held a meeting with the leaders of the Association of Reserve Officers of Albania, where he was received by Colonel Hamit Gojani, president of the association, as well as his colleagues. Lt. Col. Sadriu expressed his satisfaction that the cooperation between the two associations initiated a few years ago has resulted in joint successes and is well on its way to being strengthened even further. In addition to affirming and advocating for the rights of reservists, he emphasized that the main goal of the Association is membership with full status in the Association of NATO Reservists (CIOR). The First Gentleman was awarded a Certificate of Honor by President Gojani in recognition of Mr. Sadriu’s contribution. In addition to the official meetings, the First Gentleman also visited the National Public Museum “House of Leaves”, as well as the “Bunkart 1” and “Bunkart 2” Museums, where he got acquainted with the written and material elements of historical, national, scientific, cultural and artistic character. In the framework of these cultural activities, the First Gentleman also participated at the exhibition dedicated to Mother Teresa, at the decree of citizenship of Kosovo presentation ceremony to the world-famous author Ismail Kadare, as well as the visit to the Venetian Tower in Durrës. The First Gentleman participated at the state dinner laid by President Begaj. In addition, the First Gentleman also attended the “Patron of the Castle” title presentation ceremony awarded by the city of Berat to President Osmani, at the visit to the Kosovo Customs Office in the Port of Durrës as well as participated at the meeting with the Mayor of Durrës, Emiriana Sako.
President Osmani: The Port of Durrës saves the time and cost of Kosovar businesses
The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani, during the second day of her state visit to Albania, visited the city of Durrës. At a meeting with the Mayor of Durrës Emiriana Sako, the touristic season as well as the possibilities of cooperation with the municipalities of Kosovo were some of the issues discussed. Following the meeting, President Osmani and Mayor Sako visited the Kosovo Customs Point in the Port of Durrës, where they met with the Kosovo Customs director Agron Llugaliu and his Albanian counterpart Genti Gazheli. President Osmani emphasized the importance of the use of these Port by Kosovar businesses. According to her, this Office saves time and costs, as well as facilitates the operation of Kosovar businesses in international markets. Meanwhile, the two Customs directors presented the figures of the goods unloaded from Kosovo at this Port and the possibilities for its greater use.
