The execution of the lawyer Kelmendi and his sons was planned and a manifestation of the savagery of the Serbian criminal regime at a time when our freedom began to appear on the horizon. President Osmani commemorates Latif Berisha and Agim Hajrizi

Madam President’s full statement: When our war for liberation took off and on the same day the NATO bombings started targeting the Serbian genocidal regime, Kosovo lost two humanitarians: the writer and intellectual Latif Berisha and the union activist Agim Hajrizi together with his mother and his son. Both of them were devoted activists in the effort for the freedom and independence of Kosovo, and both of them were killed on the same day by the Serbian genocidal Serbian. Let us preserve our memory of them along with admiration and respect for their work and contribution. They will always remain in our memory and will be an inspiration to future generations!

Below is President Osmani’s statement in full: The Dukagjin Epopee is one of the most heroic events of the Kosovo Liberation Army’s war for the freedom of the country. On March 24th, 1998, the forces of the Serbian genocidal regime attacked Gllogjan, where the Haradinaj family demonstrated with heroic resistance that freedom was non-negotiable. The martyrs Himë Haradinaj, Gazmend and Agron Mehmetaj fell on the altar of freedom on this day and now and forever we remember them with respect and all those who fought and fulfilled the generations’ dream for a state. The Epopee took place on the same day as the NATO bombing commenced against the targets of the Serbian genocidal regime and it represents the budding of freedom, sealed by the military actions of the North-Atlantic Alliance. Eternal respect and memory for all the KLA fighters and for all our friends who backed our fight for freedom and state-building!
President Osmani: NATO prevented the extermination of the people of Kosovo

The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani, accompanied by the ambassadors of the QUINT countries, paid tribute at the NATO Memorial for the soldiers fallen for the freedom of Kosovo, on the 24th anniversary of the beginning of the NATO intervention which ended the genocide of the Serbian genocidal regime, perpetrated upon the citizens of Kosovo. President Osmani emphasized that the will of the people of Kosovo for freedom received the appropriate support from the western world, the free world, which was placed on the right side of history, on the side of justice. “Kosovo’s great friend, the president of the United States of America Bill Clinton, on the day of issuing of the order to commence the bombing declared in his historic speech: “our armed forces joined our NATO allies in airstrikes against Serbian forces responsible for the brutality in Kosovo,” emphasized President Osmani. President Osmani also potentiated that NATO prevented the criminal regime from ethnically cleansing the people of Kosovo. “That’s why we are always grateful to them. March 24th is the day of the reversal, of hope and freedom. We will repeat again and again that the people of Kosovo were victims in 1999, while Serbia was the aggressor. This is how it will always be in the annals of history,” said President Osmani. According to President Osmani, freedom is a foundation stone of human dignity. “However, these values are not always easy to maintain. We are living in a time of threats to all of us. For this reason, the free world needs unity against tyrants, autocrats and dictators. We must prove that peace and freedom are not just desired ideals, but lived realities. We appreciate the contribution of our friends, and by maintaining the alliance with our partners we will safeguard our freedom and our future,” stated President Osmani. President Osmani thanked the men and women of the NATO member states for their contribution in 1999 to the freedom of Kosovo and emphasized that each one of them enjoys the deep and perpetual gratitude of the people of Kosovo.
President Osmani received the US ambassador Jeffrey Hovenier

The latest developments in the dialogue process with Serbia, including the agreement on the implementation plan reached in Ohër between Kosovo and Serbia, the interstate cooperation and the ongoing coordination between the institutions of the Republic of Kosovo and the United States of America were discussed at the meeting.

President Osmani and Minister Vitia inspected the final preparations for the operationalization of the Medically Assisted Fertilization and Cytogenetics service

The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani accompanied by the Minister of Health Arben Vitia visited the Gynecology Clinic, where the final preparations are taking place for the operationalization of the new services of Medically Assisted Fertilization and Cytogenetics. President Osmani and Minister Vitia were welcomed to the meeting by the director of the Gynecology Clinic Zef Ndrejaj and the medical staff, who then jointly visited the ward where IVF services will soon be offered. President Osmani emphasized the importance of providing this service to citizens. “A service, which until now has cost the couples in our Republic somewhere around 5 million euros shall, after proceeding with the purchase of the equipment, which, as we discussed with the minister, is expected to be completed during this year, be offered in public health institutions. The respective ward which was renovated and is completely new and will o offer high-quality services to young couples who want to become parents, and will of course use medically assisted fertilization methods,”, said President Osmani. President Osmani thanked the minister, the director and all the staff for their tireless work in order for these services to be offered to the citizens of the Republic of Kosovo as soon as possible.
President Osmani Receives the Outgoing and Incoming Directors of the NATO Advisory and Liaison Team (NALT)

President of the Republic of Kosovo and Commander-in-Chief of the Kosovo Security Force, Vjosa Osmani, held a meeting today with outgoing NATO Advisory and Liaison Team (NALT) Director Brigadier General Joachim Hoppe and the incoming NALT Director Brigadier General Ralf Peter Hammerstein. During the meeting, President Osmani discussed a range of topics with both Brigadier General Officers, focused on the importance of maximizing all efforts to develop, train, and deploy the KSF in accordance with NATO standards with the ultimate goal of membership to the Alliance. This objective remains a top foreign policy and national security strategic priority for Kosovo in cooperation with international partners. The President used the opportunity to express her appreciation for the critical support and development assistance provided by the NALT within its mission and mandate. President Osmani emphasized that the support provided by the NALT team has been instrumental in helping Kosovo make significant progress towards its goal of NATO membership. In recognition of his significant contributions to executing the NALT Mission in Kosovo, President Osmani presented outgoing NALT Director BG Joachim Hoppe the Presidential Military Medal for extraordinary support in the capacity building, education, and professional training of the Kosovo Security Force in accordance with NATO standards. This honor reflects the deep appreciation and gratitude of the people of Kosovo for the outstanding efforts of Brigadier General Joachim Hoppe and the NALT team. Expressing gratitude to the outgoing Brigadier General Joachim Hoppe, President Osmani also stated her commitment to working closely with incoming NALT Director Brigadier General Ralf Peter Hammerstein to bolster future cooperation. Brigadier General Sefer Isufi is appointed as a military adviser to the President

At the request of the President of the Republic of Kosovo and at the same time the Supreme Commander of the Kosovo Security Force Vjosa Osmani, theKSF has assigned Brigadier General Sefer Isufi, a member of the military personnel, to serve as a military advisor to the President. Brigadier General Sefer Isufi has a long military experience and is a graduate in the field of security at the Army War College and the Defense University of Türkiye, respectively the Institute for Command and Strategic Direction of the Armed Forces in Istanbul. Throughout his career at the Ministry of Defense and at the General Headquarters of the Kosovo Security Force, General Isufi has carried out tasks with utmost responsibility in the design of defense policies and plans as well as their implementation at the strategic and operational levels. President Osmani, welcoming General Isufi, emphasized that his professional experience will contribute even more to the development and implementation of state policies in the fields of defense and security.
