The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani, on the 16th anniversary of Kosovo’s independence, received a congratulatory telegram from King Charles III of the United Kingdom. In his letter, King Charles III said he values the bond between our countries, stressing that he hopes to continue close cooperation on important global issues that will benefit our future generations. President Biden congratulates President Osmani on Independence Day
The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani received a congratulatory telegram on the 16th anniversary of the independence from the President of the United States of America Joseph R. Biden Jr. On this occasion, President Biden reaffirmed that Kosovo and the United States share an abiding friendship and partnership strengthened by our common vision for a more peaceful, secure and prosperous region. President Vjosa Osmani received on the Ashkali Community Day a delegation of political subjects of this community.
At the meeting with them, President Osmani thanked the representatives of this community for their contribution to the state building and their participation in institutional life. In this context, President Osmani reiterated the need for the girls and women of the Ashkali community to be more involved in public and institutional life. According to President Osmani, the Ashkali community is an added value for Kosovar society and at the same time reflects the diverse cultural and ethnic tradition of Kosovo.
President Osmani received the former UN Special Representative of the Secretary General , Joachim Rücker.
The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani received the former Special Representative of the Secretary General of the United Nations Joachim Rücker, whom she thanked for his contribution prior to and following the declaration of Kosovo’s Independence. At this meeting, Mr. Rücker was also accompanied by former president Fatmir Sejdiu. Praising his role throughout this period, President Osmani also stated the need for further cooperation with allies in order to advance Kosovo’s international position. President Osmani emphasized that the institutions of Kosovo are committed to addressing the challenges and achieving the common objectives in development and stability in Kosovo and the region, together with international partners. Mr. Rücker expressed his full support to Kosovo on its Euro-Atlantic integration path.

Mr. Prime Minister Kurti, Mr. Ambassador Mizuuchi, Members of Parliament, Ministers, Mayors of municipalities, Excellencies Ambassadors, Distinguished guests, It’s a real honor to stand here today among friends, among so many people who hold Kosovo and Japan so close to their hearts. We’re here to extend our warmest wishes to His Majesty The Emperor Naruhito and the people of Japan, expressing our hopes for their enduring prosperity and good health. In doing so, we also take a moment to celebrate Japan itself – a nation that has navigated an extraordinary journey through the annals of history, preserving traditions that have withstood the test of time. But most importantly, we honor its people. It’s their resilience and strength that truly embodies the spirit of the Japanese nation. You know, despite the distance between us, it’s our shared aspirations, our commitment to our partnership, and our efforts to building a world where peace and democratic values lead the way, that really bring us closer together. My visit to Japan, over two years ago underscored the shared commitment of both of our countries to continue working side by side to strengthen our partnership. A partnership that is rooted on the values that are the backbone of our societies—the hard work, the importance of family and tradition, and the importance of freedom and democracy. And, it might just be through our shared love for Judo where our friendship shines the brightest, even though at times, we find our countries in friendly rivalry. But as the saying goes, “Only when Japan faces Kosovo, does it lose in Judo”. Ladies and gentlemen, During Kosovo’s toughest days, Japan stood by us, offering support that’s etched in the heart of every citizen of our Republic. Building our country together with us. And now, with Japanese investment in Kosovo growing, with our youngsters getting the chance to study in Japan, with cooperation in arts, music and culture, among others, and with our strong cooperation on the international stage – we’re building bridges – real, lasting connections between our peoples. Just yesterday, I was telling the Ambassador, we’re all in on continuing to work together to strengthen the foundation of our alliance and pave new paths for cooperation. Mr. Ambassador, Kosovo remains Japan’s friend, Kosovo remains your credible partner and your democratic ally. You can continue to count on us to further solidify our partnership and take our cooperation to new heights. So, once again, from all of us here in Kosovo, we send our warmest congratulations to Japan on the Emperor’s Birthday. Now, you all know that I love studying foreign languages, but not yet Japanese unfortunately. But I have 13-year-old Buna with me today, who has joined me to teach me a little bit of Japanese. President Osmani received the credentials from the non-resident Ambassador of Norway Andreas Gaarder
The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani received today the credentials from the non-resident ambassador of Norway to the Republic of Kosovo, Andreas Gaarder, whom she congratulated on the new tenure. According to President Osmani, the relations between the two countries are very good and, in this context, she expressed her belief that they will intensify even further during the mandate of Ambassador Gaarder. At the meeting with Ambassador Gaarder, President Osmani also spoke about the current political and security developments in the country and emphasized that Kosovo will work together with its international allies to continue contributing to peace, security, lasting stability as well as to the strengthening of the international position of Kosovo. President Osmani and Ambassador Gaarder also discussed the expansion of the cooperation between the two countries in the field of foreign policy, economy and other areas of mutual interest.
President Osmani received the non-resident ambassador of Japan to Kosovo, Ryuta Mizuuchi
The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani received today the non-resident ambassador of Japan to Kosovo Ryuta Mizuuchi, with whom she confirmed the excellent relations between the two countries, marking the 15th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations this year. At the meeting with Ambassador Mizuuchi, President Osmani said that Japan remains a partner of Kosovo and a constant supporter and thanked Ambassador Mizuuchi for the many projects that Japan is implementing in Kosovo through the Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA). President Osmani emphasized Kosovo’s commitment to the Euro-Atlantic path, stressing the necessity of Kosovo’s membership in international organizations, but also its international affirmation. President Osmani also discussed with Ambassador Mizuuchi a number of issues in the field of bilateral cooperation, this year’s edition of the International Forum for Women, Peace and Security and other issues of mutual interest. Both interlocutors expressed the need to expand bilateral relations and intensify cooperation in the fields of economy, education, and healthcare.

The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani, received today in a farewell meeting the Ambassador of the United Kingdom to Kosovo Nicholas Abbott, whom she thanked for the continuous cooperation and contribution to the expansion of relations between the two countries. At the meeting, President Osmani highly praised Ambassador Abbott’s personal engagements who, in addition to his role in promoting mutual relations, also supported many causes important to Kosovar society. “Ambassador Abbott, for us you are more than a diplomatic representative. You are a true friend of Kosovo, a valuable collaborator and an unwavering supporter of our aspirations for a free, open and just society. Your continuous support for human rights, peace and the integration of Kosovo in the Euro-Atlantic family, as well as its general international empowerment, shows your commitment to Kosovo”, said President Osmani. President Osmani wished Ambassador Abbott success in his future tenure, considering him a friend of Kosovo, who will always be welcome in our country. President Vjosa Osmani received the German Ambassador
The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani received today the Ambassador of Germany Jörn Rohde. Bilateral relations and distinguished partnership in terms of developmental cooperation were discussed at the meeting. Furthermore, they also discussed the productive and important visit of the Minister of Defense of Germany to Kosovo, which confirmed the joint commitment to the further expansion of bilateral relations. On this occasion President Osmani and Ambassador Rohde also discussed the latest developments in the country, the preparations for marking of the 16th anniversary of independence as well as the steps of the relevant institutions related to the transition plan for the implementation of the latest CBK regulation.
President Osmani received Ambassador Hovenier in the meeting
The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani received today in a regular meeting the US Ambassador Jeffrey Hovenier. President Osmani and Ambassador Hovenier discussed the latest developments in the country, highlighting the joint commitment to the further advancement of democracy and the rule of law in the country. At the meeting they also discussed the last steps towards strengthening of cooperation in the field of defense and security. On the eve of the 16th anniversary of independence, President Osmani laid a special emphasis on the importance of expansion of bilateral cooperation in every field to the benefit of citizens and with the aim of further consolidation of the permanent alliance with the USA.
