President Osmani commemorated the Dubrava prison massacre
25 years ago, between May 19th and 24th 1999, the Serbian genocidal government killed 120 Albanian prisoners of war and political prisoners and injured 300 others inside Dubrava prison. This massacre revealed, as did many other massacres all over Kosovo as well, the brutality of the criminal leadership against Albanian prisoners of war and political prisoners, who were unjustly kept in prison. Today, we empathise with all the families who lost their members in this massacre, and we encourage the survivors to continue to defend the truth and fight for justice.
President Osmani met with Ambassadors of European countries
The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani, received today the ambassadors of several European countries as well as that of EULEX, led by the EU Ambassador Thomas Szunyog, to discuss the coordination of the international agenda, as well as coordination with EU and other allied states policies on matters of foreign policy and security. President Osmani emphasized that Kosovo continues to be fully aligned with the EU policies in the field of security and foreign policy, including the endorsement of sanctions against Russia and other states or groups that endanger global security and peace. President Osmani also discussed the need for the lifting of the measures against Kosovo, which mostly affect the well-being of the citizens of Kosovo, without distinction, stressing that Kosovo has already met all the criteria. At the meeting, Ambassadors also informed the President on the preparations being made for the Summit on Peace in Ukraine, which will be held in Switzerland.
President Osmani commemorates the 25th anniversary of the Stagova Massacre
25 years ago, the paramilitary forces of the Serbian genocidal regime killed 13 villagers in the village of Stagovë in Kaçanik. During this barbaric offensive, the criminal forces destroyed 90 houses out of 180 that the village had at that time. No one has been convicted as yet for this horrible crime and we will not stop in our commitment to bring justice and and our freedom to shine in full. May the memory and honor be eternal for all those who fell for freedom!
President Osmani received Nicole Chulick, Deputy Assistant Secretary of the US Department of State, Bureau for Democracy, Human Rights and Labor
The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani, received today Nicole Chulick, of the US Department of State, Bureau for Democracy, Human Rights and Labor. The latest developments, the further expansion of Kosovo-USA cooperation, and Kosovo’s ongoing achievements in strengthening of democracy, the rule of law and human rights were discussed at the meeting. On the issue of human rights, President Osmani said that Kosovo has the most advanced legal framework in Europe, which stems from the Constitution of the Republic. In this regard, President Osmani emphasized Kosovo’s commitment to preserving multi-ethnicity and protection of human rights of all citizens of Kosovo, without distinction. She also stated the importance of gaining membership in the Council of Europe, as an additional guarantee for preserving and promoting human rights, democracy and the rule of law in the country. President Osmani also reiterated that every success of Kosovo also bears the seal of the USA and has confirmed the commitment to further cooperation in this spirit.
President Osmani received the Minister of Social Development and Family of Qatar, Maryam bint Ali bin Nasser Al-Misnad
The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani received the Minister of Social Development and Family of Qatar, Maryam bint Ali bin Nasser Al-Misnad. Qatar has been a constant supporter of Kosovo, and hence President Osmani thanked Minister Al-Misnad, as well as Qatar’s leadership led by Emir Tamim bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani on its support. President Osmani emphasized that Kosovo deeply appreciates the continuous support of Qatar, especially in the help for membership in international organizations and also for the provision of humanitarian aid during and after the war. Furthermore, President Osmani underlined the importance of strengthening of relations with Qatar and in this context mentioned the field of social welfare, support for war invalids, the health sector, tourism and other investment projects. The development and improvement of family support services, including programs focused on the well-being of children and women were also discussed at the meeting. Both interlocutors expressed the need for the expansion of cooperation and initiation of joint initiatives that will benefit both countries.

The First Gentleman of the Republic of Kosovo Prindon Sadriu, has accompanied Her Excellency, President Vjosa Osmani-Sadriu to the Clinton Global Initiative (CGI) event in Sofia, Bulgaria, where she participated as a special guest of Secretary Hillary Clinton. This important event provided a platform for productive exchanges and discussions on key global issues, including Kosovo’s progress and women’s empowerment. During the participation in several CGI activities, Mr. Sadriu had the honor to meet and speak with senior officials participating in CGI, including the well-known lawyer and publicist Cherie Blair, wife of the former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, with his counterpart from Iceland, the First Lady Ms. Eliza Jean Reid, with CGI executives and other senior representatives. Discussions focused on several topics, with special emphasis on recent developments in Kosovo and initiatives aimed at advancing women’s empowerment.
