At the invitation of the former Secretary of State of the United States of America Hillary Clinton, the President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani de[parted for a working visit to Bulgaria, as a special guest at the event organized by the Clinton Global Initiative. In a discourse that will be held during the main event, President Osmani and former Secretary of State Clinton will speak on the role of women in strengthening economies. President Osmani will also participate in the executive table organized as part of this event, alongside many guests from the world of politics, business, philanthropy and civil society. During the one-day visit, President Osmani is also expected to meet with the President of Bulgaria, Rumen Radev. The Clinton Global Initiative was founded in 2005 by the former US President, Bill Clinton, and aims to unite the forces of leaders worldwide to provide concrete solutions to global challenges.
President Osmani met with the ambassadors of the United States, Germany and the United Kingdom
The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani received today in separate meetings the ambassador of the United States Jeffrey Hovenier, the ambassador of Germany Jorn Rohde, and the ambassador of the United Kingdom, Jonathan Hargreaves. Kosovo’s membership in the Council of Europe and coordination on unblocking of the process of Kosovo’s membership in this organization were discussed at the meetings. Madam President also spoke to ambassadors of other allied countries regarding this process.
President Osmani on the 25th anniversary of the disappearance of the patriot Ukshin Hoti: An intellectual and activist for whom the commitment to the Republic was a lifelong cause
For 25 years, the name of the intellectual and patriot Ukshin Hoti remains on the list of individuals forcibly disappeared by the genocidal regime of Serbia. On May 16 1999, he was released from the Dubrava prison, but from that day on, his fate, as well as the fate of over 1,600 forcibly disappeared remains hostage to the ongoing policies of Serbia, which sleeps on mass graves. “Where is Ukshin Hoti?!”, still sounds like a call to clarify the fate of the intellectual and activist for whom the commitment to the Republic was a lifelong cause. Kosovo is already a Republic, and it is an obligation for us to bring the fate of Ukshin Hoti to light and for justice. We are committed to clarify his fate and bringing justice so that history does not repeat itself.
President Osmani was received by the Prime Minister of Denmark Mette Frederiksen: Throughout all the state building stages, Denmark’s support for Kosovo has been unwavering
The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani was received today at the Christiansborg Palace by the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Denmark, Mette Frederiksen. Bilateral relations between the two countries were discussed at the meeting, as well as the reconfirmation of the mutual commitment to the increase of interstate cooperation to the benefit of the citizens of both countries. At the meeting with Prime Minister Frederiksen, President Osmani thanked the Kingdom of Denmark for its support to Kosovo throughout the years, while also discussing the importance of continuation of this support for Kosovo’s integration into the European Union, its NATO membership, as well as membership in international organizations. In this regard, President Osmani expressed her gratitude for the unanimous support of the Danish deputies in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, as well as for the readiness of the Danish government to continuously support Kosovo until full membership. President Osmani and Prime Minister Frederiksen also discussed the Danish presidency of the European Union next year, where the President laid out the need to take concrete steps regarding Kosovo’s integration into the EU, based on the performance and reforms carried out in our country. President Osmani also expressed her deep gratitude for the contribution of over 13,000 Danish soldiers to peace and security in Kosovo since 1999, and paid her respects at the Danish National Monument of Remembrance, where Madam President was received with military honours.

President Osmani commemorates the 25th anniversary of the Massacre in Qyshk, Zahaq, Llabjan and Pavlan
25 years ago, the forces of the Serbian genocidal regime barbarically killed and massacred 44 civilians in Qyshk, 17 in Zahaq, 21 in Pavlan and 13 in Llabjan. As in every massacre all around Kosovo, the goal of the criminal forces was the extermination and ethnic cleansing of the Albanians. On this anniversary, we dolefully commemorate the martyrs of these villages and reaffirm our commitment to justice. May there be eternal memory and honor for all those who fell for freedom!
President Osmani participates at the Copenhagen Democracy Summit
The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani has departed for the Kingdom of Denmark where she will participate at the Copenhagen Democracy Summit. President Osmani will deliver a keynote speech at the Summit and discuss Kosovo’s efforts to protect and strengthen democracy, as well as the importance of integration our country and other aspiring countries into Euro-Atlantic institutions in light of geopolitical developments. During the visit to the Kingdom of Denmark, President Osmani will be holding meetings with various state leaders. President Osmani will also meet the members of Albanian diaspora in this country.
President Osmani commemorated the 25th anniversary of the Korisha Massacre
25 years ago, the forces of the Serbian genocidal regime killed 77 women, men, old people, including 14 children of the villages of: Korishë, Budakovë, Bllacë, Reshtan, Mushtisht and Grejkoc. The barbarity of the criminal regime was manifested upon Albanians regardless of age, as their only goal was extermination. The wounds of atrocities like this one in Korishë, brings to our attention the great price of freedom, hence the commitment to justice will never stop. May there be eternal memory and honor for all those who fell for freedom!
