President Osmani congratulated the Roma community on International Roma Day

The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, in honor of the International Roma Day, has received in her office a delegation consisting of representatives of the Roma community in the Parliament, the Government and civil society, headed by MP Ergjan Galushi. President Osmani expressed heartfelt congratulations on the International Roma Day, thanking the members of the Roma community in Kosovo for their contribution, commitment and their role in the nation-building process in our country. The President reiterated her commitment to increasing cooperation and advancing the protection of the rights of the Roma community, including the protection and cultivation of the Roma language and culture. President Osmani appoints by decree 29 judges with an initial term of office

The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, at the proposal of the Judicial Council of Kosovo, decreed today 29 judges. In the swearing-in ceremony before the President of the Republic, the new judges swore that: “they will remain faithful to the Constitution of the Republic of Kosovo, the laws in force, will comply with the rules of professional ethics, and they will perform their duties faithfully, independently, professionally and impartially”. President Osmani has emphasized that in state consolidation, the justice system plays a very important role, therefore we are working hard for this system to be independent, fair, impartial, and one that provides equal access to justice for all citizens of the Republic of Kosovo.
President Osmani hosted in a meeting a delegation from the Atlantic Council

The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, today received a delegation from the Europe Center of the Atlantic Council led by Jörn Fleck, senior Director. During the meeting they discussed the latest developments in the country and the region, the next steps in the integration of the Republic of Kosovo in the Euro-Atlantic institutions, the dialogue with Serbia, as well as the possibilities of deepening the cooperation with the Atlantic Council. Speaking about the current geopolitical developments in Europe, President Osmani emphasized that the Republic of Kosovo remains committed to sustainable peace in the region and beyond, while she said that the full integration of Kosovo in the Euro-Atlantic institutions together with other democratic states in the region is vital for achieving this goal. In addition, the President talked about the constructive role and proactive approach of Kosovo in the dialogue with Serbia, as well as the continuous coordination of the institutions of the Republic with allies and international partners. The President has reiterated the importance of protecting sovereignty, territorial integrity, constitutionality and protecting the functionality of the state at every step. Among other things, it was also discussed about the strengthening of the partnership between the Republic of Kosovo and the United States, as well as the deepening of cooperation with various programs of the Atlantic Council.
President Osmani received in a meeting the American ambassador, Jeffrey Hovenier

The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, received today in a regular meeting the ambassador of the United States of America, Jeffrey Hovenier. During the meeting they discussed the latest developments in the country and the region, as well as the joint commitment to cooperation and ongoing coordination between the institutions of the Republic of Kosovo and the United States of America, with a special emphasis on the importance of the further advancement of bilateral relations. They also talked about the latest developments in the dialogue process with Serbia, as well as the new momentum for Kosovo’s membership in international organizations and the strengthening of its international position.
President Osmani has received in the meeting representatives of the think-tank, Friends of Europe

President of the Republic of Kosova, Vjosa Osmani has received in the meeting representatives of the think-tank Friends of Europe based in Brussels, which promotes policies of a more inclusive, sustainable and equal Europe. At the meeting, President Osmani is informed about the Friends of Europe programme on the economic empowerment of women, within which they are working intensively with all countries of the Western Balkans, including Republic of Kosova. This programme aims to create a new political system that strengthens women and girls. President Osmani congratulated representatives of the think-tank for their programme, encouraging them to continue with the work in this direction and cooperation with institutions of the Republic of Kosova.
President Osmani visited General Headquarters of KSF: Participation in “Defender- Europe’23” confirms the strong confidence of strategic partners in our army

In order to be informed about final preparations on the execution of the field training “Defender-Europe’23”, President of the Republic of Kosova Vjosa Osmani, outright the Supreme Commander, has visited General Headquarters of KSF in the Military Camp “Adem Jashari” in Prishtina, where she was received by Lieutenant General Commander Bashkim Jashari together with KSF Generals and Officers. On this occasion, President Osmani was informed by General Jashari and his staff on the current development in KSF and activities in progress, with special emphasis on the final preparations prior to the execution of the field training of American forces with other partner forces “Defender –Europe’23”. From her side, President Osmani congratulated KSF on the successful process of planning and proper preparations for the Training “Defender-Europe’23”. “Participation of over 1300 KSF troops in the field training “Defender-Europe’23”, alongside American forces and other allies, as well the status of the Republic of Kosova as the host country, confirms strong confidence of our strategic partners in the professionalism of KSF, as well the faith in our country and people, in the protection of Euro-Atlantic values of freedom and regional and global peace”, has emphasized President Osmani among others. As the Supreme Commander of KSF, President Osmani has expressed her entire support on the development and promotion of KSF, as well the success of the Training, as one of the most important events not only for KSF, but also for the Republic of Kosova and Euro-Atlantic vision.
President Osmani commemorates the Rezalla Massacre

The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani commemorated the Rezalla Massacre on its 24th anniversary. On April 5th, 1999, the forces of the Serbian genocidal regime surrounded the houses of the Rezallë village and ferociously murdered 98 boys and men, residents of the Rezallë and surrounding villages. Serbian forces then committed the second fiendish crime while disposing of the dead bodies of the 44 killed. The bodies of some of the killed were found some time later in Rudnica in Rashka, in Serbia. The Rezalla massacre once again demonstrated the typology of massacres carried out, planned and led by the Serbian state forces, whose aim was mass drive-out attacks, murders, rapes, burning and destruction of property, forced deportation and extermination of the civilian Albanian population. Each of the civilians killed in this massacre has its own history and legacy. All these are evidence of the macabre crimes committed by Serbia in Kosovo. We will not stop seeking justice for the victims. May the memory of them remain eternal!
President Osmani commemorated the 24th anniversary of the Kralan Massacre

The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani commemorated the 24th anniversary of the Kralan Massacre. Today we remember the 86 civilians abducted by the Serbian genocidal forces of Serbia in Kralan, Gjakovë, who were separated from the column of the internally displaced people gathered in this village. Civilians of various ages, elderly, women, men and children, were brutally killed by the Serbian criminal regime or are considered forcibly disappeared. To this day, mothers, sisters and other family members anxiously await news about the fate of their loved ones, who are considered to be forcibly disappeared by the Serbian regime. Justice for the victims and eternal remembrance!
President Osmani met with the special envoys of Germany and Austria for the Western Balkans, Manuel Sarrazin and Johannes Eigner

The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani received today the special envoys of the Federal Republic of Germany and the Republic of Austria for the Western Balkans, Manuel Sarrazin and Johannes Eigner. The latest developments in the country and the region, including the accordance reached on the basic agreement, the implementation plan between the Republic of Kosovo and Serbia as well as security developments in the north of the Republic of Kosovo were discussed at the meeting President Osmani emphasized that Kosovo continues to engage constructively to contribute to long-term peace in the region. In this regard, the President emphasized that the recent criminal acts in the north of the Republic of Kosovo, orchestrated by illegal structures supported by Belgrade, are aimed at intimidating and threatening of the local Serbian population, as well as creating a climate of fear and insecurity. Irrespective of all this, President Osmani pointed out that Kosovo will continue to be fully coordinated with international allies in continuing efforts for lasting peace, security and stability while remaining committed to the implementation of law and order throughout the territory of the Republic. Furthermore, President Osmani thanked Mr. Sarrazin and Mr. Einger for the commitment of Germany and Austria to the full integration of the Republic of Kosovo in the Euro-Atlantic institutions and emphasized that the coordination of Kosovo with allies will continue.
