President Osmani meets with the Minister of Defense and the KSF Commander
The President of the Republic of Kosovo,Vjosa Osmani, at the same time the supreme commander of the Kosovo Security Force, received today the Minister of Defense Mr. Ejup Macedonci and the Kosovo Security Force Commander, Lieutenant General Bashkim Jashari. Security developments and Serbia’s hostile actions towards Kosovo, the work of Kosovo’s security institutions, as well as coordination with our allies and the international security presence in Kosovo were issues discussed at the meeting. President Osmani emphasized that Kosovo remains committed to peace and security in the country and the region and that the institutions of Kosovo will act in close partnership with our allies.
President Osmani met with the Head of the OSCE mission in Kosovo, Ambassador Michael Davenport
The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani received today the head of the mission of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) in Kosovo Ambassador Michael Davenport, with whom she discussed the latest developments in the north of the country. President Osmani thanked the partners for their solidarity and support to Kosovo following the terrorist attack organized and supported by Serbia, which killed the hero of Kosovo, police sergeant Afrim Bunjaku, and injured several other policemen. Madam President thanked the Kosovo Police and other security institutions for their excellent work and coordination, and emphasized that it is important for this coordination to continue in order to prevent new attacks. President Osmani stressed that Kosovo continues to remain committed to peace and stability, integration and inclusiveness of the Serbian community in the institutions of Kosovo. But, as Madam President pointed out, it is very important that Serbia be held responsible for this attack and that measures be taken against Serbia in order for such attacks are not allowed in the future.

The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani, received today the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Kosovo, Sabri Tunç Angılı. In relation to the recent developments in the north of the country, following the terrorist attack and the act of aggression by Serbia against the Republic of Kosovo, President Osmani emphasized the importance of cooperation with allied countries and the coordination of security institutions, in order to prevent the recurrence of such acts. According to President Osmani, the institutions of the Republic of Kosovo are fully committed to managing the current situation, but also to the maintenance of peace and stability. At the meeting with Ambassador Angili, President Osmani also emphasized Kosovo’s commitment to deepening bilateral relations and intensifying cooperation in foreign policy with Turkey.

Switzerland, according to President Osmani, is a strategic partner of Kosovo and the relations between the two countries are even more amicable due to the large number of Kosovars living there. Thanking the Swiss state for the continuous support provided to Kosovo, President Osmani informed the ambassador of the latest developments in the north of the country following the terrorist attack and the act of aggression by Serbia against Kosovo. She underlined the importance of close cooperation with allied countries and coordination of security institutions, in order to prevent the repetition of such acts.

The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani met with the ambassadors of the United States of America, Great Britain, Germany, France, Italy and the European Union over a working breakfast, to discuss the current situation in the north of the country, following the terrorist attack and Serbia’s act of aggression against the Republic of Kosovo. At the meeting, President Osmani thanked the ambassadors for their solidarity and condolences expressed for the assassination of the hero of Kosovo, the Kosovo Police Sergeant Afrim Bunjaku and the injury of several other policemen. She highly praised the excellent and professional work carried out by the Kosovo Police and other security institutions in handling of the terrorist attack. President Osmani emphasized the importance of close cooperation with allied countries and coordination of security institutions, in order to prevent the recurrence of such acts. “Kosovo is determined to continue the promotion of peace and stability in the region, as well as to work with the local Serbian community to bring them closer and integrate them into the society and institutions of Kosovo,” stated President Osmani. Madam President made it known that the institutions of the Republic of Kosovo are committed to the management of the current situation and help achieve and maintain peace and stability. According to President Osmani, accountability should be demanded from Serbia for its actions against Kosovo, making it clear that Serbia should stop financing, supporting and enticing criminal groups for terrorist acts. “The lack of such measures may be misused by Serbia, and therefore we may have a recurrence of such terrorist acts”, underlined President Osmani.

President Osmani also added that “As an expression of our gratitude for the historical engagement of Bosniaks, I awarded the honours to four outstanding Bosnian personalities for their contribution to freedom as well as for their indelible traces in art, culture, science and humanity”.

President Vjosa Osmani received today the leaders of the main opposition parties at separate meetings, to discuss the latest security developments in the country. At the beginning of the meetings with the Chairman of LDK, Mr. Lumir Abdixhiku, that of PDK, Mr. Memli Krasniqi and AAK, Mr. Ramush Haradinaj, at the invitation of the President, also the KIA Director Mr. Petrit Ajeti was also present. The leaders of the opposition parties were informed, within the limitations allowed by the legal framework, regarding security developments, the actions of Kosovo’s institutions, as well as the imperilments caused by Serbia due to its destabilizing and warmongering agenda, which is being carried out through acts of aggression and terrorism. At all meetings, the security institutions were congratulated for their excellent work in confronting the Serbian-led structures that carried out the terrorist attack against Kosovo, and deep gratitude was expressed for the unparalleled commitment and sacrifice of the Kosovo police to protect sovereignty, territorial integrity and all citizens of Kosovo, without distinction. President Osmani emphasized that national unity at this difficult time for Kosovo is imperative and for this, we must all contribute jointly. She thanked the opposition parties for the correct attitude and support towards the security institutions in this phase of confrontation with Serbia’s destabilizing agenda against Kosovo. Also, Madam President has assured the opposition leaders that at every stage of the developments, they will be informed about the preparations and the work of the institutions and that there will be full coordination with our allies who, in cooperation with our security institutions, are the guarantors of peace of stability. President Osmani expressed full confidence that we will overcome the new challenges that may appear only together, placing the interest of the state above all else.
The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani met today with the US Ambassador to Kosovo Jeffrey Hovenier
The latest developments, with special emphasis on the security situation following the attack in the northern part of Kosovo, where the Kosovo Police Sergeant Afrim Bunjaku was shot dead and several other policemen were injured by the terrorist acts of Serbian criminal groups. Ambassador Hovenier once again expressed his most sincere condolences for the murder of the Kosovo policeman. Madam President thanked the allies, first of all the USA, for the support and solidarity following the murder of the police sergeant, the hero of Kosovo, Afrim Bunjaku, as well as the cooperation and support of the security institutions at this time when Kosovo’s national security is being seriously challenged. Madam President emphasized that for this terrorist attack and act of aggression on the part of Serbia, there should be liability on the part of the Serbian state. She also said that she hopes that after the allied countries complete their internal procedures regarding confirmation of the information related to the latest attack on Kosovo, they will take concrete measures and sanctions against Serbia, due to its direct involvement in this attack, either as an instigator, organizer or its facilitator.
The President of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani commemorated the 25th anniversary of the Abria Massacre
25 years ago, Milosevic’s genocidal regime mercilessly and savagely took their lives, massacring 23 members of the Deliu family, children, elderly, women and youngsters, all from 2 to 94 years of age. On this day, we also commemorate the heroism of the KLA martyrs, Valdet Xhemajli, Vesel Demaku and Afrim Hajdari, who fell on the altar of freedom. Let’s remember with love and respect all those we lost and let’s work together to bring the perpetrators to justice! May the memory of the martyrs and the fallen of Abria be eternal!
