President Osmani met with the Quint and EU ambassadors following the terrorist attack and the Serbia’s act of aggression against Kosovo

The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani met with the ambassadors of the United States of America, Great Britain, Germany, France, Italy and the European Union over a working breakfast, to discuss the current situation in the north of the country, following the terrorist attack and Serbia’s act of aggression against the Republic of Kosovo.

At the meeting, President Osmani thanked the ambassadors for their solidarity and condolences expressed for the assassination of the hero of Kosovo, the Kosovo Police Sergeant Afrim Bunjaku and the injury of several other policemen. She highly praised the excellent and professional work carried out by the Kosovo Police and other security institutions in handling of the terrorist attack.

President Osmani emphasized the importance of close cooperation with allied countries and coordination of security institutions, in order to prevent the recurrence of such acts.

“Kosovo is determined to continue the promotion of peace and stability in the region, as well as to work with the local Serbian community to bring them closer and integrate them into the society and institutions of Kosovo,” stated President Osmani.

Madam President made it known that the institutions of the Republic of Kosovo are committed to the management of the current situation and help achieve and maintain peace and stability.

According to President Osmani, accountability should be demanded from Serbia for its actions against Kosovo, making it clear that Serbia should stop financing, supporting and enticing criminal groups for terrorist acts.

“The lack of such measures may be misused by Serbia, and therefore we may have a recurrence of such terrorist acts”, underlined President Osmani.
