President Osmani commemorates the anniversary of the Polac and Qabiq massacres

In April 1999, Polac and the surrounding villages experienced one of the most brutal offensives of the Serbian genocidal regime. Within a week, 78 Albanian civilians, men, women and children, were killed. Today, we bow with utmost respect to the memory of the 8 martyrs of the Kosovo Liberation Army, who fell on the altar of freedom. On April 7 of that year, the Serbian murderous machine also attacked Qabiq, where it executed 10 civilians, in another crime that testifies to the extent of the terror that was exercised over the Albanian population at that time. These massacres are not only painful memories, but part of our history, of the truth that must never be forgotten. By honoring martyrs and the fallen, we remember sacrifice, defend the truth, and reaffirm our commitment to justice. May the memory of all those who fell for the freedom of Kosovo be eternal!

President Osmani commemorates the anniversary of the Rezallë massacre

On April 5, 1999, in the village of Rezallë in Drenicë, the forces of the Serbian genocidal regime committed one of the worst war atrocities in Kosovo. Surrounded in their homes, 98 boys and men – residents of Rezallë and surrounding villages – were ferociously executed. As if murder was not enough, they hid the bodies of 44 of the victims, another dark act aimed at erasing the traces of the genocide. Some of these bodies were found years later in mass graves in Rudnica in Raska, in the territory of Serbia. The Rezallë massacre was part of a systematic plan by the Serbian state for extermination, forcible expulsion of Albanians from their land, through persecution, mass murder, rape, burning and destruction. We will not stop seeking justice, nor will we stop remembering and honoring them forever. Eternal glory to the martyrs of Rezallë!
