25 years since Resolution 1325 – the turning point in the history of women in peace, security and beyond

In just three years, Kosovo has become the global center of this agenda through the Center of Excellence and the International Forum in Pristina, where voices from all over the world have united for justice and equality. From economic empowerment to representation in politics and the military, Kosovo has proven that women are a force for peace. It is for this reason that in October, on the anniversary of the Resolution, President Vjosa Osmani was honored with the Award for Women, Peace and Security by the NATO Parliamentary Assembly. This recognition honoured the work, effort and sacrifice of Kosovo women. A recognition that, in addition to honouring, also seals a truth: through this agenda and this forum, Kosovo has not only become part of the global map of major events, but has also achieved important diplomatic successes.
