Honourable participants, Dear Dumoshi family, Honourable members of parliament, leaders of political parties, Associates of the Dumoshi family, Honourable members of the “Shoqëria” Movement, Honourable members of the Association of Political Prisoners, Distinguished participants, It is indeed a great honor to be among you today, in a ceremony dedicated to a woman and three men, who in difficult times do the impossible to awaken national consciousness, develop education in the Albanian language, and provide an extraordinary contribution to the fulfillment of the eternal ambition for a free Kosovo. The plaque that we are inaugurating today bears the names of Sadije, Xhemajl, Osman and Ismail Dumoshi, located right on the house, which at that time was the center of national activity. Today we are sealing a memory, but we are also honoring their contribution, which should serve as inspiration and motivation for each of us on how to protect the language, the nation and the homeland. This plaque and this tribute show us that the history of our movement for freedom and independence is early. Sadia in defense of the right of her sons to learn the Albanian language, Xhemajli, Osmani and Ismaili in their commitment to emancipation, education, freedom and the Republic constitute a significant part of the contributors to our freedom and independence. In the November of national holidays, in the glorious November, honoring them is recalling the historical events that preceded the realization of our dream for a state. The demonstrations of 1968 were just the beginning of our long and difficult road to articulating our demands for the Republic of Kosovo. In this house, Ismail Dumoshi and many, many other activists commenced the battle for the Republic of Kosovo, the dream of that time, the reality of today. Their engagement, but also that of many other activists, led to the fact that on October 6, 1968, the then Yugoslav regime allowed the use of the national flag, with which our people carried out all the effort and struggle for the independence and state of Kosovo. In the annals of our history, the Dumoshi family is considered among the main contributors, initiators and leaders of the 1968 demonstrations in Pristina and beyond. Their effort for the development of Albanian language education and for national awareness has left a visible mark. Ismaili and his whole family considered education the main pillar of our national consciousness. Due to this approach and this engagement, the idea of the Republic of Kosovo was carried from generation to generation, from 1968 to 1981 and 1997, with the public appearance of the KLA along the resistance led by the historical President, Ibrahim Rugova, to the construction of alliances on his part throughout the war of the Kosovo Liberation Army during the 90s led by commander Adem Jashari and finally received the stamp in 2008 with the declaration of Kosovo as an independent and sovereign state. Therefore, in this November we bow to the activity of the Dumoshi family, as well as the activity of many other patriots, with whose sacrifice today we are a free people among other free peoples. Kosovo today is finally a Republic, it is a free country, while the memory of the Dumoshi family and other patriots of the national movement will be eternal! Thank you!
President Osmani visited the “Adem Jashari” barracks on the occasion of the Day of the Force
The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani, visited the “Adem Jashari” barracks today, on the occasion of the Day of the Force. Accompanied by Prime Minister Albin Kurti, Minister of Defense Ejup Maqedonci and the Commander of the Kosovo Security Force Lieutenant General Bashkim Jashari, they closely observed the military equipment showcased in honour of this day. President Osmani stated that KSF Day is a day of pride not only for the soldiers but for every citizen of the Republic of Kosovo. “It is a day when we very proudly remember the magnanimous sacrifice of our people, of our Liberation Army, to get where we are today, a lot of blood has been shed so that Kosovo has its own army. Hence, I am convinced that each and every soldier wears this uniform with great pride and is ready to give his life for the motherland if necessary”, said President Osmani. According to the President, the Security Force is a Force that is trained according to the highest standards of NATO. “A force that contributes not only to peace and security in the region and elsewhere by serving together with the US forces, the forces of the United Kingdom and other allied armies in various countries of the world in peacekeeping missions. and thus proving that it is by now ready to join the other allied armies in the most powerful alliance in the history of mankind, the NATO alliance,” said President Osmani. Madam President also added that as the Supreme Commander of this army, she can see in every corner of the world how much admiration the successes of this army are appraised. “Therefore, I am extremely proud of that, but at the same time, together with other institutions, we will work in order to create even more favorable conditions, whether for welfare, for additional training and education, or for healthcare, so that every soldier of our army has more prosperity and more will and motivation to contribute to our army and to our country,” affirmed the President. Furthermore, President Osmani said that in constant coordination with the Prime Minister, the Minister of Defense, and with the Commander of the KSF, they are engaging so that our army can reach even greater heights each day. President Osmani received the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Belgium, Hadja Lahbib
The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani, received the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Belgium, Hadja Lahbib. At the meeting, President Osmani thanked Belgium for the support for Kosovo’s integration into the European Union, as well as the support offered for membership in the Council of Europe and the visa liberalization process. President Osmani also expressed her felicitations to the state of Belgium on increasing the diplomatic level of interstate relations with the opening of the Embassy in Pristina. According to President Osmani, Kosovo is interested in expanding bilateral cooperation, particularly in the fields of economy, trade and investments, as well as cooperation agreement in the fields of security and defense. President Osmani emphasized that Kosovo’s expat community in Belgium plays an important role in promoting relations between the two countries. President Osmani informed Minister Lahbib during the meeting about the latest political and security developments in Kosovo, especially regarding the September 24th aggression of Serbia towards Kosovo and the need to address its responsibility for the destabilization of Kosovo and the region.

Honourable President Begaj, Honourable Prime Minister Rama, Honorable Speaker of the Assembly, Mrs. Nikolla, Honourable Speaker of the Assembly of North Macedonia, Mr. Talat Xhaferi, Deputy prime ministers, ministers and representatives from Albania, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Presheva, Medvejga, Bujanoci and other Albanian lands, Dear brothers and sisters, Our diaspora is the sublimation of the ages long efforts for freedom, independence and state building. Therefore, I am extremely honored to be here today in Tirana, in the city that usually gathers us Albanians wherever we are, even more so at the Summit dedicated to our diaspora, which continues to be a catalyst for positive change wherever Albanians live. The Albanian diaspora is a symbol of stability, strength and unwavering spirit of our people and our nation. Throughout history, Albanians, against their will, have been scattered around the globe, but always kept our rich cultural heritage, traditions and indomitable Albanian identity. From this corner of Europe to the most distant continents, Albanians have left their mark, integrating and achieving success in the countries they emigrated to, but always preserving their foundations and roots. Our diaspora has played an important role in each country where it lives and works, contributing skills, knowledge and unwavering dedication to the work in various fields. Despite the challenges it has faced, the Albanian diaspora has remained deeply connected to the homeland, remaining loyal to its roots. Fate scattered a number of our people around the world, but the strong connection with the country of origin, respect for tradition, made them never turn their backs on the homeland, becoming the most powerful bridge connecting our countries with the world . From Kosovo, Albania, North Macedonia, Montenegro, Presheva, Medvegja and Bujanoc, our diaspora is united in one! While we are all gathered here today, let’s not forget that our brothers and sisters in Preshevë, Medvegjë and Bujanoc still face systematic discrimination that also results in ethnic cleansing through administrative means. As always, we say it again, that you are not alone! We are all with you, we are all with you in protecting the rights of Albanians in Preshevë, Medvegjë and Bujanoc. Therefore, even on this cause, this cause for their defense, we must and will shall be as one. The historical role of the Albanian diaspora is extraordinary. Through challenging times, they were and are ambassadors of our culture, proponents and advocates of our cause and staunch supporters of our national aspirations. The Albanian diaspora is undoubtedly the pillar of the national movement for freedom and independence of the Albanians. Their solidarity and unwavering support have been a source of strength for us in our journey towards freedom, independence and democracy, but also towards the strengthening of state building and the prosperity of our people. In the eighties and nineties, our diaspora was our voice in all decision-making centers, from Washington to Brussels, from Berlin to Paris, Rome and many other places. It was the powerful voice of an oppressed people aiming and fighting for freedom. It was our exiles that stood at the forefront of our resistance, the fight for survival and the fight for an independent and sovereign state. But the support of the diaspora did not end there. Its contribution for decades has transformed it into a strong economic arm of families and the state of Kosovo. This engagement never ceased. Thanks to the contribution of our diaspora, it was possible to keep alive the parallel system of education, healthcare and culture in the nineties, at a time when the Albanian people in Kosovo were in danger of extermination. Diaspora above all, made it possible to keep alive the political idea of the freedom and independence of our country, because each exile was, in fact, an ambassador of Kosovo in spreading the truth and protecting our right to freedom and independence. Their path is one with the destiny of the country, so in 1997, when the fight for the freedom of Kosovo took off, many young men and women from the diaspora joined the ranks of freedom, being mobilized in the Kosovo Liberation Army, as defenders of our country. In this way, our diaspora did not only play the supporting role for Kosovo, but became the main shareholder in the process of freedom and independence of our country. Jusuf and Bardhosh Gërvalla, Kadri Zeka, Agim Ramadani, Sali Çekaj, the soldiers of the Atlantic battalion, and many, many others, are just a few, just a few of our heroes, who fell on the altar of freedom, being the first activists of the national issue, as members of the diaspora in the countries where they lived and worked. But it is not only individuals, there are also many associations that gather Albanians in exile that have carried out extraordinary work, whether among Albanians in America, in Switzerland, Germany, United Kingdom, and in many other countries of Europe and of the world. But perhaps nothing proves the strong connection with the roots more than our Arbëresh people, who preserved the language and tradition for centuries. The contribution of the Albanian diaspora to the development of the homeland is immeasurable. Today, through remittances, investments, philanthropy and the exchange of knowledge, our diaspora continues to actively participate in the economic, social and cultural progress of our countries. They are not only citizens living in and abroad, but constitute important potential for the transformation of our states through their experience and expertise. Diaspora also plays an important role as an agent of change and advocate for development. Their experiences create a unique perspective on our governance, social issues and policies. In fact, the best image of Kosovo is precisely our diaspora. Hard-working people, patriots who have their place of origin, their homeland, as their compass of orientation. Today, we have many reasons to be proud as Albanians, because many figures from our diaspora have become world references. President Osmani participates at the Third Diaspora Summit in Tirana
The President of the Republic of Kosovo, at the invitation of the Prime Minister of Albania Edi Rama, departed to Tirana to participate at the Third Diaspora Summit. Leaders of institutions, political parties, researchers and historians from all over Albanian inhabited lands are expected to participate in this Summit, including representatives and well-known figures of the Arbëresh community. President Osmani handed to Alketa today the first dress that will be part of this installation. A dress in the colors of Kosovo and with the anemone flower in it, which has already become a symbol of strength, courage and hope. All the dresses of survivors of sexual violence from around the world will become part of this installation, which will be exhibited in The Hague. Let these dresses become a symbol of triumph and additional strength in our commitment to justice, stated President Osmani.
