President Pacolli receives Ms. Osnat Lubranti, UNDP Resident Representative in Kosovo

The President of the Republic of Kosovo Behgjet Pacolli received today at a meeting the UN Development Coordinator and UNDP Resident Representative in our country Ms. Osnat Lubranti.

“Kosovo must have a mid-term development plan”, Ms. Lubranti said, adding that one of the greatest challenges remaining for our country was the large number of young people ready to embark on the labour market and the high rate of unemployment.

As UN Development Coordinator she said that, in coordination with all institutions of our country, they have drafted a five-year development plan for Kosovo.

Expressing her satisfaction with the assistance provided so far and cooperation with Kosovo’s institutions in particular, Ms. Lubranti said assistance and cooperation would be maintained in the future.

Having thanked Ms. Lubranti for the assistance that organisations she represented had and were providing to Kosovo, the President of the Republic of Kosovo Behgjet Pacolli mentioned a range of priorities for institutions of our country in terms of ensuring the speediest economic growth and finding a way out of the current situation.

He spoke of necessary steps to be taken in terms of economic reforms and development, adding that only an economic growth of 5-6% during this year would serve as a guarantee to development and creation of new jobs.

President Pacolli also laid an emphasis on necessary reforms to be made in justice, health and other fields, where he said immediate steps should be taken to alleviate the situation and provide better services to the people.
