The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani, who is currently on an official visit to the Czech Republic, met with the President of the Czech Senate Miloš Vystrčil.
At the meeting with President Vystrčil, President Osmani emphasized that the Republic of Kosovo considers the Czech Republic an important ally with whom it shares common values ​​and visions for peace, prosperity and Euro-Atlantic integration.
President Osmani addressed the issue of visa liberalization for Kosovo and the advancement of Kosovo’s European agenda during the mandate of the Czech Republic, which currently holds the presidency of the Council of the European Union.
“Kosovo needs a clear path to the EU during the Czech Presidency. Support for the process of visa liberalization should be on the agenda as it constitutes a great injustice to the citizens of Kosovo,” emphasized President.
At the meeting, President Osmani also requested the support of the Czech Senate for the membership process in the Council of Europe, considering the great importance that parliamentarians play in this process, especially in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe.
President Osmani discussed with President Vystrčil the importance of supporting Kosovo’s membership in the Partnership for Peace and then in NATO. Both interlocutors agreed on the expansion and deepening of bilateral relations, as well as on the strengthening of parliamentary diplomacy among the two countries.
