In the framework of April 14 – Day of Survivors of Sexual Violence during the recent war in Kosovo, the President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani hosted a meeting with the Government Commission for Recognition and Verification of the Status of Persons Violated during the War, UN Women, Agency for Gender Equality and organizations dealing with gender equality.
President Osmani stressed that this day will be an opportunity to hear the voice of survivors of sexual violence during the recent war in Kosovo, which will raise awareness of the lack of justice for victims of this violence.
“On this day we will dedicate the strength to the survivors and seek justice for them. We will fight the stigma and we will be maximally committed for their integration into the society, “emphasized President Osmani.
As part of the activities of this day, an exhibition of the artistic works of the survivors of sexual violence during the war was opened in the garden of the Presidency of Kosovo.
At the opening of the exhibition, President Osmani emphasized that these works of art on display are portraits of these powerful women, who have become models of survival and fighters for breaking prejudices and stigma.
