Today, the President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, received a delegation of deputies of the French National Assembly.
President Osmani expressed her gratitude for France’s continued support for Kosovo, from the declaration of independence to the joint efforts to advance Euro-Atlantic goals.
She emphasized the strategic importance of relations with France and its key role in the international consolidation of the state of Kosovo.
Speaking about security challenges in the region, President Osmani emphasized Serbia’s continued tendencies to destabilize Kosovo and the entire region. She emphasized that these tendencies of Serbia are deliberate and coordinated, mentioning the aggression attack in Banjska, the attacks and injuries of KFOR soldiers by Serbian gangs, as well as the continuous terrorist attacks directed and supported by Belgrade.
In the context of the dialogue with Serbia, President Osmani highlighted Serbia’s lack of will to implement the agreements reached, considering this a serious obstacle to the progress of the dialogue and to viable stability in the region.
President Osmani further underlined the importance of Kosovo’s membership in the Council of Europe as a decisive step for the advancement of human rights for all citizens without distinction. She stressed that Kosovo’s membership in this organization is a guarantee for the protection of fundamental freedoms and for the enhancement of democratic standards in the country, while stressing the need for France’s support in this process.
President Osmani stressed that Kosovo will continue to stand by Euro-Atlantic values and will work with international partners to ensure a sustainable future for all its citizens.
