President Osmani on International Roma Day received a delegation of the Kosovo United Roma Party

The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani, on the occasion of International Roma Day, received today a delegation of the Kosovo United Roma Party, led by Mr. Albert Kinolli.

President Osmani congratulated chairman Kinolli and all citizens of the Roma community in Kosovo, emphasizing the importance of this day to reflect on the challenges and achievements, as well as to reaffirm the institutional commitment to the rights and equality of the Roma community.

During the meeting, Madam President highly praised the contribution of the representatives of the Roma community and the Roma community in general in building a fairer, more equal and inclusive society, describing their voice as essential in the country’s democratic processes.

Underlining her continued commitment to empowering non-majority communities in Kosovo, President Osmani praised the work of the Consultative Council for Communities and other mechanisms aimed at strengthening the participation and advancing the rights of communities, with a special emphasis on the Roma community.

President Osmani emphasized that education remains one of the main priorities in empowering Roma youth, especially girls and women, through programs that increase access to and inclusion in the education system. She added that the commitment to equality should not only focus on education, but also on creating equal opportunities for employment and active inclusion in the public and institutional life of the country.
