President of the Republic of Kosovo, Mrs. Atifete Jahjaga, during her visit to Netherlands, was received at an audience in the Royal Palace by the King of the Netherlands, His Majesty the King of Netherlands, Willem-Alexander. President Jahjaga was accompanied by the Ambassador of the Republic of Kosovo to the Kingdom of Netherlands, Ms. Vjosa Dobruna.
President Jahjaga thanked His Majesty William Alexander for the help which Kingdom of Netherlands has provided to Kosovo, in particular for the help during the state building of Kosovo and added that Kosovo is a joint success story of the people and the institutions of Kosovo and the international community.
Madam President also said that Kosovo has achieved great advances in the last 15 years, becoming an all inclusive state and a promoter of peace and stability in the whole region of South-Eastern Europe.
President Jahjaga added that Kosovo is a state which promotes good neighbourliness and has demonstrated this through its constructive engagement in the dialogue process with Republic of Serbia, held in Brussels, facilitated by EU and supported by USA, which has resulted with the agreement on normalisation of relations between the two states.
The agreements achieved in Brussels must be implemented in full, said President Jahjaga, and emphasized that EU must engage in implementation monitoring, as a precondition for the European perspective of Serbia.
President Jahjaga also added that Kosovo has also made progress on its European path, through the establishment of new contractual agreement on the commencement of negotiations on Stabilisation-Association Agreement. She expressed her gratitude to the King of the Netherlands for the support which his country has given to Kosovo on the commencement of the negotiations and stressed the dedication of the institutions and the citizens of Kosovo to the successful conclusion of this process.
Madam President praised the relations between Kosovo and Netherlands as excellent ones and said that they can be further expanded in certain fields, with particular emphasis in economic development and promotion of Dutch investments in Kosovo.
King of the Netherlands, Willem-Alexander, while wishing a warm welcome to Madam President, praised the achievements of Kosovo and its advancement of democratic processes as well as the European integration ones. In hid discussion with President Jahjaga, His Majesty showed his interest in various issues connected to Kosovo, including the dioalogue with Serbia and the process of European integrations.
