President of the Republic of Kosovo, Mrs. Atifete Jahjaga, received today at a meeting the representatives of the independent cultural institutions, who informed Madam President with their latest activities.
President of the Republic of Kosovo, Mrs. Atifete Jahjaga, received today at a meeting the representatives of the independent cultural institutions, who informed Madam President with their latest activities.
They asked for President Jahjaga’s support for independent institutions and artists, who have for many years provided their contribution in development of cultural diplomacy, and underlined the importance which these institutions have had in enrichment of Kosovo’s cultural mosaic. They also expressed their unhappiness with the access to public funds as means for supporting of their activity.
One of their main requests was the establishment of the National Council on Culture, as an all inclusive forum which would include public and private cultural institutions and freelance artists, in drafting of a long term strategy of cultural development of the country.
President Jahjaga reiterated her dedication to the advancement and promotion of culture in Republic of Kosovo and underlined the importance of independent cultural institutions in this aspect.
