President Jahjaga received a delegation of the Kosovo-France Friendship Group

President of the Republic of Kosovo, Mrs. Atifete Jahjaga, received today at a meeting a delegation of the Kosovo-France Friendship Group of the National Assembly of the Republic of France, with whom she discussed about the actual developments in the country and integrational processes of the country.

President Jahjaga thanked the Friendship Group for the support it continues to provide to Kosovo in advancing of its democratic processes and in particular to its European integration process. She praised the help which the Republic of France has provided to Kosovo and emphasized the importance of further expansion of cooperation between the two countries.

President Jahjaga spoke about the achievements and challenges of Kosovo, in the fields of building of a state of law, fighting of negative phenomena and establishment of rule of law and order, illegal migration and the endeavours of the institutions of the country in the field of economic development, which will enable opening of new work places and also establish a favourable business climate which will attract foreign investors.

President Jahjaga said that Kosovo is continuing its international presence, by becoming a member of a large number of international organisations, including the Francophonie, as one of the world’s important organisations, and is now aiming membership in the Council of Europe. She added that she has requested the institutions of the country to expedite the process of fulfilment of all required criteria determined for Visa liberalisations process, which will allow free movement of the citizens of our country.

Delegation of the Kosovo-France Friendship Group is lead by the Group Chairwoman, Ms. Genevieve Gosselin-Fleury, and it also included the Vice President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe as well as the Chairman of the French Parliamentary delegation to the Council of Europe, Mr. René Rouquet.  Delegation was accompanied by the Ambassador of the Republic of France to Kosovo, Ms. Maryse Daviet. Members of the delegation congratulated President Jahjaga for her work and her role, and emphasized their support for the processes which Kosovo is going through.
