President of the Republic of Kosovo, Mrs. Atifete Jahjaga, received today at a meeting the Editor in Chief of the “Zëri” Daily, Ms. Arbana Xharra, laureate of the prestigious “International Women of Courage Award” of the US State Department.
President Jahjaga congratulated Ms. Xharra on the award and the honour made to her and particularly for her courageous and useful work to the society. President Jahjaga highly praised the engagement of Ms. Xharra, who through her writings has shown courage in handling of subjects such as extremism and radicalism and fight against corruption and organised crime. She also said that investigative journalism in the country, however hard and difficult it might be, is necessary and needed in prevention of development of negative phenomena and advancement of democratic processes in the country.
Editor in Chief of the “Zëri” Daily, Ms. Arbana Xharra, thanked President Jahjaga for her continuous and direct support in fighting of extremism and radicalism. She said that regardless of threats, for subjects handled, she will continue to do her work with utmost dedication.
