President Jahjaga received the Chairwoman of the Central Electoral Commission

President of the Republic of Kosovo, Mrs. Atifete Jahjaga, received today at a meeting the Chairwoman of the Central Electoral Commission, Mrs. Valdete Daka.

Mrs. Daka informed President Jahjaga with the proceeding of the November 3rd local elections and stated that the election process went ahead well, apart from certain problems in the northern parts of the Republic of Kosovo.

Mrs. Daka also said that CEC has decided to re run the elections at three polling stations in North Mitrovica.

CEC chairwoman also informed Madam President with the vote counting process, which is proceeding well and without any problems. According to Mrs. Daka, CEC is currently undertaking the preparations for the second round of elections for Mayors in certain municipalities of the country.

President Jahjaga emphasized that CEC and other institutions have successfuly accomplished their tasks and expressed the support for their engagement for normal proceeding of the second round of elections in some municipalities of the country, in order to obtain free and democratic elections.
