President of the Republic of Kosovo, Mrs. Atifete Jahjaga, received today at a meeting the Europe Director of the International Basketball Federation (FIBA), Mr. Kamil Novak and the representative of the FIBA General Secretary and at the same time FIBA Sports Director, Mr. Lubomir Kotleba, accompanied by the officials of the Kosovo Basketball Federation, lead by the Federation President, Mr. Erolld Belegu.
President Jahjaga, while thanking the FIBA delegation for acceptance of Kosovo as an equal member of the Federation, stated that this step marks the opening of the perspective for the Kosovar basketball, for the youngsters of the country in order to show their perseverance and talent. She also said that internationalisation of the Kosovar sport is helping the country exceptionally.
FIBA representatives, Messrs. Novak and Kotleba congratulated the President for Kosovo’s membership in International Basketball Federation and emphasized their support for Kosovo’s basketball, which will present itself in the international arena very soon.
