President Jahjaga received Ambassador Gérard Stoudmann

President of the Republic of Kosovo, Mrs. Atifete Jahjaga, received today Ambassador Gérard Stoudmann, Special Representative of the Helvetic Confederation for Western Balkans during this country’s presidency of the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe – OSCE.

President Jahjaga praised the cooperation between the institutions of Kosovo and the OSCE Mission. And thanked Ambassador Stoudmann for the contribution which this organisation has provided in the past in relation to the strengthening of the democratic institutions in the whole region of the South-Eastern Europe, capacity raising in the field of rule of law and the stability and security of western Balkans. Madam President also praised the role played by OSCE during last November’s local elections, particularly in easing of this process in the northern part of the territory of the Republic of Kosovo.

President Jahjaga also stated that Kosovo has proved itself as a factor of peace and stability in the region, engaging in establishment of good neighbourly relations, one of the preconditions of Euro-Atlantic integrations.  Madam President emphasized that for Kosovo, its international consolidation is of great importance, as is its membership in EU, NATO, UN and OSCE itself.

Ambassador Gérard Stoudmann, Special Representative of the Helvetic Confederation for Western Balkans during this country’s presidency of the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe – OSCE, expressed the dedication of his country to hel advancement of al processes which Kosovo is going through.
