President of the Republic of Kosovo, Mrs. Atifete Jahjaga, paid a homage and laid floral garlands at the Memorial Complex of the Jashari family, on the occasion of the 15th death anniversary of the legendary commander of the Kosovo Liberation Army, Adem Jashari and 54 members of the Jashari family.
On this occasion, President Jahjaga said that the actions of the Legendary Commander Adem Jashari are the founding stone of the endeavours for freedom, as strong demonstration of the will to protect one’s fatherland and for a life in freedom.
“The Epopee of the Jashari family marks the most sublime act of heroism and sacrifice for the sake of fatherland. The act of the Legendary Commander of the KLA is the foundation stone of bringing to life all our centuries long endeavours for freedom, and demonstration of will and organisation to stand side by side the fatherlands in a desire to live in freedom, to have a secure future for all the coming generations, for Kosovo as a sovereign and independent state, a member of EU and NATO and in eternal friendship with the United States of America”, said President Jahjaga.
President Jahjaga also said that today, we remember all those men and women who spared nothing, who did not remain silent and worked incessantly in order that we may become today a free nation, equal will all other nations.
“On this day, we remember all those men and women who spared nothing, who did not remain silent and who never ceased working for freedom, in order that today we are an equal with others and dignified nation, with a secure future in our own state”, added President Jahjaga.
