We have entered a very important period for Kosovo, a period of the advancement of the democratic processes of the country, during which period we must show our political maturity and our dedication to the building of a democratic and an all-inclusive state.
On this plain, I met today with the representatives of all the mechanisms in order to guarantee good electoral proceedings, the Chief State Prosecutor, and Chairman of the Judicial Council of Kosovo, Chairwoman of the Central Electoral Commission, Chairman of the Supreme Court of Kosovo, Director of the Kosovo Police, Special Coordinator of the Prosecution for Elections, Chairman of the Electoral Panel on Complaints and Queries, in order to obtain free, proper and fair electoral process, as guaranteed by the Constitution of the Republic of Kosovo.
Elections of November 3rd are important for the citizens of the Republic of Kosovo as they ensure the territorial integrity and the subjectivity of the country. Local elections in the whole territory of the republic of Kosovo, held at the same time, are our test in democracy and proper proceeding of the elections guarantees our path towards European elections, towards progress as well as a better life for all the citizens, regardless.
Fair, free, democratic and just elections open our perspective as a country and as a society and they enable building of our state upon the democratic principles, especially the principle of rule of law. The right of each citizen to vote and to be voted is guaranteed by the Constitution and infringement of this right as well as of the right of a free vote is punishable by law.
The vote of the citizens of the Republic of Kosovo is untouchable, inviolable and free. Each attempt to touch this vote and each attempt to manipulate with this right of free citizens of Republic of Kosovo will be strongly punished. Violations are intolerable and unacceptable, as they hinder our path of building of a democratic, free state, equal with all the states of Europe.
Local elections, which include the municipalities in the northern parts of the territory of the Republic of Kosovo, will allow for the integration of the citizens of Serbian community into the institutions and the society of the country, thus helping to expedite Kosovo’s European journey. The right of the citizens of the Serbian community, whether north or south, or in any other part of the country, to participate in the processes of the general development of the country is a right guaranteed by the Constitution of Kosovo.
Massive participation of the citizens on Election Day, in all corners of the Republic of Kosovo, will ensure the election of legitimate and legal representatives, who will work with dedication for the improvement of the lives of the citizens and general wellbeing of the country.
I call upon all the citizens of the Republic of Kosovo, irrespective of their ethnicity, religion or gender to take part in the elections and to vote for the people they consider that they deserve to be representatives of their interests in implementation of the constitutionality, order and rule of law in Republic of Kosovo.
