President Atifete Jahjaga received today the representatives of the Roma community in Kosovo

The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Madam Atifete Jahjaga, received today the Roma community representatives in Kosovo, headed by Kujtim Paçaku, MP of the Assembly of Kosovo, composed of representatives of the Roma political party and civil society representatives, on the Memorial Day of the Roma in Kosovo.

The meeting of the delegation of the Roma community with the President was made in the marking of the International Roma Day.

President Jahjaga congratulated the representatives of the Roma community on the Roma Memorial Day emphasizing the value of the Kosovo society to respect the ethnic x, cultural and religious Roma community. She said that the integration of all the communities living in Kosovo is very important, including the Roma community, in the society and institutions of the country, but stressed that the improvement of the living conditions and the offering of better perspective for all citizens, without distinction, is a priority of the work of the institutions of the country.

She invited the Roma community to be more active and to express its needs and requirements through the Consultative Council for Communities, led by the President.

The representatives of the Roma community thanked President Jahjaga for the congratulations on the Roma Day and for the reception on this special day for them and stressed the importance of the support of the local institutions for the Roma community. They stressed the need that this community has in the field of education and also in providing employment conditions.
