Their fall was not the end, but the foundation of a path that led to freedom and independence. For their extraordinary contribution to freedom, I had the honor to present the Lladrovci family, on the occasion of the anniversary of Kosovo’s independence, with the Order “Hero of Kosovo” for Fehmi Lladrovci and the Order “Heroine of Kosovo” for Xhevë Lladrovci. Colonel Ahmet Krasniqi, the first Minister of Defense of Kosovo, remains a symbol of courage, sacrifice and vision for a free Kosovo. He was treacherously murdered, a victim of a despicable act that aimed to stop the efforts for freedom. But, even though the colonel was murdered, the dream of a free Kosovo was not killed. His legacy is alive in every step of our state-building, while solving his murder remains a moral and institutional obligation. May the memory of Colonel Ahmet Krasniqi be eternal!
