The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, received today the Commander of the NATO Joint Forces Command in Naples, Admiral George M. Wikoff, on the occasion of his assumption of duty at the head of one of the most important strategic commands of the North Atlantic Alliance. President Osmani congratulated Admiral Wikoff on his new tenure, wishing him success in leading the NATO Joint Forces Command in Naples and expressing her full confidence in his leadership and in the key role that this command plays for Euro-Atlantic security, regional stability and international peace. During the meeting, President Osmani reiterated the Republic of Kosovo’s gratitude to NATO and the United States of America for the decisive and irreplaceable role they have played and continue to play in guaranteeing peace, security, and stability in Kosovo since 1999. In this context, Madam President expressed exceptional appreciation for the KFOR mission as a reliable preventive force and guarantor of security for all citizens of the Republic of Kosovo, without any distinction. President Osmani confirmed her commitment to continuing cooperation with KFOR and emphasized that Kosovo remains a reliable, capable, and contributing partner to regional security and stability, strongly committed to the values of peace, democracy and the rule of law. In this spirit, Madam President highlighted the risks from Serbia’s destabilizing acts and its lack of accountability for the attack on KFOR soldiers, the terrorist attack, respectively the aggression in Banjska and the kinetic attack on the Ibër-Lepenc canal.
President Osmani awarded Mr. Hasan Arat the Presidential Medal of Merit

Between January 11th and 12th, 1984, at the Kodra e Trimave in Prishtina, patriots Rexhep Mala and Nuhi Berisha fell heroically in a confrontation with the forces of the Serbian regime. Two boys who knew no fear and gave everything for the freedom of Kosovo. As the founders of the Student Committee, they preceded the Student Spring of 1981, being an early sign of the great endeavor for liberation. Their heroic fall marked the beginning of a contribution that will forever remain part of history for the freedom of Kosovo. Rexhep Mala and Nuhi Berisha live in all of us who hold the homeland in our hearts, in every step that Kosovo takes and are proof that their courage and sacrifice are our respect and eternal memory.

He served the homeland with integrity and dedication, leaving deep traces on our state-building path. The murder of Enver Maloku is a crime that still requires bringing the perpetrators to justice. It is an obligation of the justice institutions and a debt to the voice of our truth. Glory to the life and work of Enver Maloku!

The triplets are growing up surrounded by the unconditional love of their mother and family, as well as by the maximal professional care of the medical staff, who give their best to the youngest lives among us. Every birth is an investment in our common future. Therefore, it is important that support for mothers, children and families continues. I wish that these children grow up with health, love and security, and that every mother feels supported, respected and appreciated.
President Osmani received the Ambassador of the United Kingdom, Jonathan Hargreaves
The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani, today received the UK Ambassador to Kosovo, Jonathan Hargreaves. The latest developments in the country, as well as the early elections held on December 28, which were conducted in accordance with the highest democratic standards, were discussed at the meeting. In this spirit, Madam President reiterated the importance of the swift formation of institutions. Further steps towards the finalization of Madam President’s initiative to conclude strategic agreements with the United Kingdom in areas of common interest, namely defense, security, and economy and trade, which were agreed upon during the visit of the British Foreign Secretary to Kosovo in April of this year were also discussed. On this occasion, President Osmani also expressed her gratitude for the continued British support for Kosovo and its citizens.
