President Osmani on a working visit to Iceland

The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani has departed for a working visit to Reykjavik Iceland, where she will be meeting with her counterpart President of Iceland Guðni Th. Jóhannesson, Prime Minister Katrín Jakobsdóttir, Speaker of the Assembly Birgir Ármannsson and the Foreign Affairs Minister Thórdís Kolbrún Reykfjörd Gylfadóttir. This is the first bilateral visit of a Kosovo president in the history of relations between Iceland and our country. During this single-day working visit, the topics of the President’s discussion will be the intensification of cooperation during the Icelandic presidency of the Council of Europe-in pushing forward the membership bid of the Republic of Kosovo in this organization, the expansion of bilateral relations with Iceland, advancement of Kosovo’s Euro-Atlantic path as well as other issues of mutual interest.
Learta Hollaj has been appointed Deputy Chief of Staff of the Cabinet of the President of the Republic of Kosovo

President Vjosa Osmani has appointed Mrs. Learta Hollaj as deputy chief of staff of the Presidential cabinet. Ms. Hollaj was initially engaged as chief sustainable development and partnerships advisor. She covered the portfolio of energy, environmental and development policies, foreign policy, as well as projects and initiatives in the field of gender equality, constantly promoting partnership and cooperation with relevant actors in respective fields. Ms. Learta Hollaj led the organization of the first edition of the International Women, Peace and Security Forum, and currently leads the engagements of one of the commitments in three pillars of the Summit for Democracy, which focuses on the advancement of human rights through the promotion of diversity and inclusion. Ms. Hollaj joined President Osmani’s team in 2020 as a political advisor to the Speaker of the Assembly and prior to that she was an active member of civil society and worked on drafting policies in the field of energy, environmental protection and sustainable development in general. Ms. Hollaj completed her bachelor’s degree studies at RIT Kosova and obtained her master’s studies diploma at the Central European University in Budapest. Ms. Hollaj takes over this role from Artan Murati, who held this position until now. President Osmani thanked Mr. Artan Murati for his tireless work and professional contribution to the Cabinet during his service in this position and wished him success in his future professional journey. The President also emphasized that she will continue the excellent collaboration with Mrs. Hollaj in achieving the objectives of the President’s Cabinet and in further advancement of the Cabinet’s work.
