The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani has departed for a working visit to Reykjavik Iceland, where she will be meeting with her counterpart President of Iceland Guðni Th. Jóhannesson, Prime Minister Katrín Jakobsdóttir, Speaker of the Assembly Birgir Ármannsson and the Foreign Affairs Minister Thórdís Kolbrún Reykfjörd Gylfadóttir. This is the first bilateral visit of a Kosovo president in the history of relations between Iceland and our country.
During this single-day working visit, the topics of the President’s discussion will be the intensification of cooperation during the Icelandic presidency of the Council of Europe-in pushing forward the membership bid of the Republic of Kosovo in this organization, the expansion of bilateral relations with Iceland, advancement of Kosovo’s Euro-Atlantic path as well as other issues of mutual interest.
