The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani received today a delegation of the Austria-Kosovo Friendship Group, headed by MEP Lukas Mandl, which also included senior Austrian officials and businessmen.
At the meeting with the Austrian delegation, President Osmani thanked the state of Austria for its support to Kosovo provided during various periods throughout history.
President Osmani engaged for a stronger partnership with Austria, which she considers to be an ally and supporter of Kosovo’s Euro-Atlantic journey.
The dialogue process with Serbia was also discussed, with President Osmani highlighting Serbia’s obstructions of the dialogue process, hindering the dialogue and trying to destabilize not only Kosovo through the use of criminal gangs in the north. In this spirit, President Osmani emphasized that Kosovo is committed to contributing to the peace and stability of the country and the region, in coordination with its allies.
President Osmani also added that Kosovo needs further support from its partners for membership bids in the Council of Europe and other international organizations as the advancement of Kosovo in the international arena brings more stability and prosperity to all its citizens without distinction.
Furthermore, the possibilities of increasing cooperation between Kosovo and Austria were also discussed at the meeting and in this context President Osmani pointed out the economic potential that Kosovo has, as well as the favourable environment for foreign investors.
Foreign policy, education, healthcare and commercial exchange were mentioned in the context of expansion of Kosovo’s cooperation with Austria.
