President Vjosa Osmani: US Secretary of State Madeleine Albright is not only part of our history, but she helped us write it

US Secretary of State Madeleine Albright is not only part of our history, but she helped us write it. At a crucial time for the fate of Kosovo, as Secretary of State in the administration of President Bill Clinton, she was among the key voices for NATO’s intervention against the Serbian genocidal regime, a decision that ended the war and paved the way for Kosovo’s freedom. Her visit to Kosovo in 1999 and her return to Prishtina two decades later, when she described the intervention as just, testify to her unwavering commitment to the just cause of our people. Her bust in the heart of our capital stands as a permanent reminder of the historic role she played in our journey to freedom. Meanwhile, the friendship with the United States remains a testament in honor of her legacy. Eternal gratitude to Secretary Madeleine Albright!
