President Osmani received the new KFOR Commander Major General Özkan Ulutaş
Following his assumption of the office of the KFOR commander, the President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani-Sadriu received today Major General Özkan Ulutaş. On this occasion, President Osmani congratulated him on assuming the post of KFOR commander, expressing full confidence in close cooperation in order to fulfill common goals for peace and security in Kosovo and the region. President Osmani also emphasized the importance of coordination in successfully confronting the challenges and open threats from Serbia that tend to undermine the security, stability and territorial integrity of the country, especially after the September 24th terrorist attack in the north of the country. In this direction, Madam President expressed her gratitude for the reinforcement of KFOR troops, which are supporting the institutions of Kosovo in patrolling the border with Serbia. For his part, General Ulutaş expressed his gratitude and appreciation for the reception by President Osmani, stressing that he will cooperate closely with President Osmani and all other local institutions to fulfill his responsibility in the service of security and protection of peace and stability based on the mandate of the KFOR mission in Kosovo.

The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani, received today the Deputy Managing Director for Europe at the EU’s European External Action Service (EEAS), Marko Makovec. Following the terrorist act and the act of aggression of Serbia against the Republic of Kosovo, President Osmani emphasized the importance of holding Serbia responsible through concrete measures from the EU. She underlined that preventing Serbia’s ongoing efforts to destabilize our entire region is crucial. Madam President potentiated that this attack was prepared and orchestrated by Serbia, and executed by terrorist and paramilitary groups, proved by a large number of the evidence obtained by our security institutions. President Osmani reaffirmed the full commitment of the Republic of Kosovo to work closely with its partners to overcome the challenges created by this act of aggression, stating the continuous cooperation of our institutions with international ones, especially security ones, including EULEX.
President Osmani received the credentials of the new ambassador of the Belgian Kingdom
The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani received today the new ambassador of the Belgian Kingdom Grégoire Cuvelier, on the occasion of the presentation of his letters of credence. President Osmani congratulated the ambassador on his new tenure, with Ambassador Cuvelier adding that on his part there will be greater engagement in various areas of mutual interest. At the meeting, both sides emphasized the very good relations between our two countries and their further expansion, with a special focus on economic cooperation and support for Kosovo’s European path. Madam President thanked him for the continuous support provided by the Belgian state to the Republic of Kosovo and informed Ambassador Cuvelier in greater detail with the security situation in Kosovo and the act of aggression committed by Serbia on September 24th on the Republic of Kosovo.

President Osmani congratulated the ambassador on his new tenure, with Ambassador Mazánek adding that there will be an enhanced engagement following the decision of Czech President Petr Pavel to raise diplomatic relations at the level of ambassadors. At this meeting, both sides emphasized the very good relations between our two countries and their further expansion, with a special focus on economic cooperation and other areas of common interest. President Osmani thanked him for the contribution made by the Czech Republic regarding the liberalization of visas and informed the ambassador in more detail about the security situation in Kosovo following the act of aggression committed in Kosovo by Serbia.

President Osmani awarded the Presidential Medal of Merit post-mortem to Milan Shuflaj, Vinçenc Gjini and Shime Deshpali
The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani, during her official visit to Croatia, awarded the Presidential Medals of Merit post- mortem to the Croatian Albanologist and historian Milan Shuflaj, to Vinçenc Gjini, composer, pedagogue and an outstanding figure of the Albanian music and to Shime Deshpali, musicologist and Albanian author, an Arbëresh of Zara. According to President Osmani, Milan Shuflaj is meritorious for illuminating and exploration of various issues in the field of medieval Albanian history, as well as research in the field of Albanology. Vinçenc Gjini, according to Madam President, nurtured our tradition of music, as he engaged in studies in the field of musical art, leaving his mark through his engagement in several cultural institutions of Kosovo. The third personality to receive the award, Shime Deshpali, the Albanian musicologist, an author, a Zara Arbëresh, was praised by President Osmani for his lifelong activity dedicated to music, preserving the Albanian tradition and its cultivation. “Through their passion and tireless work, they have shed light on the unique and often underestimated aspects of the Albanian identity. Their work serves as a connecting bridge that connects the past, present and future generations, ensuring that the treasures of the Albanian heritage are not lost,” said among others President Osmani.

The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani, during her official visit to Croatia, met with the Speaker of the Croatian Parliament Gordan Jandroković. President Osmani informed the speaker of the Croatian Parliament of the latest developments in Kosovo, appreciating the unity shown by the Assembly of Kosovo in the face of Serbia’s aggression. “Regarding the terrorist attack and Serbia’s act of aggression against Kosovo, Serbia should be sanctioned by the international community for these actions,” emphasized the President. At the same time, President Osmani stated the necessity of withdrawing Serbian military troops from the border with Kosovo and in this context, thanked NATO for sending additional troops in order to increase security along the Kosovo-Serbia border. According to President Osmani, Kosovo needs further support in these difficult moments and added that Kosovo counts on Croatia’s continuous support in the process of membership in the Council of Europe, the European Union, NATO and other international organizations, as well as in the handling of the security challenges.
