President Osmani attends the funeral of the former President of Finland, Martti Ahtisaari
At the invitation of the Finnish Government, President Vjosa Osmani together with former President Fatmir Sejdiu, participated today in the funeral of the former President of Finland, Martti Ahstisaari. At the state funeral held in Helsinki, more than 800 guests, heads and representatives of states, as well as partners from different stages of the career of former President Ahtisaari were present. Honouring the memory of former President Ahtisaari, President Osmani said that: “Today we said our last farewell to the statesman and peacemaker Martti Ahtisaari. President Martti Ahtisaari’s tireless dedication to diplomacy, conflict resolution and human rights has left an indelible mark in our world”. Further, she expressed her deep gratitude for his contribution to the independence of Kosovo as well as for his exemplary service. The guests at President Ahtisaari’s funeral have been invited by the Finnish Government in accordance with the wishes of President Ahtisaari’s family. President Ahtisaari’s contribution to peace and conflict resolution in different countries of the world was also recognized in 2008 when he was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize.

The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, has travelled to Finland. At the invitation of the Finnish government, President Osmani, along with heads of state from other countries of the world, will attend the funeral of the former president of Finland and the chief negotiator for the status of Kosovo, Martti Ahtisaari. Former President Fatmir Sejdiu will also be in the state delegation of the President. President Ahtisaari’s funeral will be held on November 10.

President Osmani departed to Singapore on a working visit
The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani departed on a working visit to Singapore, during which she will meet with senior state representatives. During her stay in Singapore, President Osmani will be meeting with the President of Singapore Tharman Shanmugartnam and the Prime Minister of Singapore Lee Hsien Loong. As part of this visit, President Osmani will participate at the Bloomberg Economic Forum in Singapore, as one of the keynote speakers of this forum. The Bloomberg Economic Forum is among the largest and most important economic forums in the world, which gathers CEOs of the world’s most successful companies and political leaders, in order to discuss overcoming global challenges in the field of economy and creation of new partnerships. During this visit, President Osmani, together with the Kosovar businesses present at Bloomberg, will be part of a round table on trade, investments and cooperation opportunities between Kosovo and Singapore. At this table, she will discuss Kosovo’s economic potential and together with Kosovar businesses will respond to the interest of Singapore businesses. Madam President is also invited to participate at the Earthshot Prize ceremony, held under the patronage of Prince William of Wales, a ceremony dedicated to the green agenda.

The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani received yesterday the governor of the Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo Ahmet Ismaili, who informed her with the engagements of the Central Bank of Kosovo and the latest developments in the country’s banking system. The process of Kosovo’s membership in the European Council of Bureaux, which provides the Green Cards for vehicles, as well as the digitalization of banking services and supporting the economy and other initiatives related to sustainable and responsible banking in Kosovo were also discussed at the meeting. President Osmani offered the institutional support in addressing of challenges and achieving objectives in the interest of the the citizens and institutions of the Republic of Kosovo.
