Madam President received the Alwaleed Philanthropies Secretary-General
This morning, President Osmani welcomed Princess Lamia Bint Majed Saud Alsaud, Secretary General of the Alwaleed Philanthropies, who leads the delegation of this organization, to the Republic of Kosovo. Alwaleed Philanthropies are visiting the Republic of Kosovo to participate at the ceremony organized under the patronage of the President of Kosovo, for important donation to the healthcare of our citizens, which will be delivered to UCCK by Alwaleed Philanthropies. President Osmani thanked Alwaleed Philanthropies led by Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal Al Saud on behalf of all the citizens of Kosovo, for this donation that will have an extraordinary effect on the health of our citizens and has offered the cooperation of the institutions of the Republic of Kosovo for the realization of other projects that are in the interest of the citizens of the Republic.
President Osmani received the members of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Parliament of Finland
The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani received today members of the Parliament of Finland and, at the same time members of the Foreign Affairs Committee, headed by the Chairman of the Committee, Kimmo Kiljunen. Kosovo’s membership in the Council of Europe and other international organizations, Kosovo-Finland bilateral relations, increasing cooperation between the two countries, as well as recent developments were discussed at the meeting. President Osmani expressed her deep gratitude for Finland’s steadfast and continuous support during every stage our state went through. In this spirit, President Osmani thanked the Finnish MPs in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe for their unsparing support for Kosovo’s membership in this organization, stressing the importance of this membership for strengthening human rights for all citizens without distinction, strengthening democracy, as well as the rule of law. The importance of increasing cooperation between Kosovo and Finland was also discussed as a joint goal of both countries.
President Osmani received the German ambassador Jörn Rohde
The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani received today the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany, Jörn Rohde. At the meeting, President Osmani and Ambassador Rohde discussed the country’s current political and security developments. President Osmani also emphasized the importance of Kosovo’s membership in the Council of Europe, which creates opportunities to protect the rights of all our citizens without distinction. In this context, she thanked Ambassador Rohde for Germany’s support in the voting process in the Parliamentary Assembly. The two interlocutors also discussed the intensification of cooperation between the two countries. President Osmani categorized Germany as a strategic ally and strong supporter of Kosovo on its Euro-Atlantic path.
President Osmani received a delegation of the EU Working Party on the Western Balkans
The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani received a delegation of the EU Working Part on the Western Balkans. At the meeting with the delegation, President Osmani discussed the latest developments in the country and the dialogue process with Serbia. President Osmani also emphasized at the meeting with the diplomats of the EU Working Party on the Western Balkans Kosovo’s progress in the field of the rule of law, the fight against corruption and organized crime, transparency, good governance and, in particular, respect for human rights. President Osmani said that Kosovo applied for the status of a candidate country in the EU in December 2022 and that it is committed to fulfilling the obligations and membership criteria. “Kosovo is fully aligned with the EU’s foreign and security policy. Consequently, there should be a move forward with the status of a candidate country”, President Osmani emphasized. Furthermore, President Osmani said that Kosovo has incorporated the European Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and other international human rights instruments into its Constitution, ensuring the rights of communities, the rule of law and democratic governance, as certified by reliable international organizations. President Osmani, in front of the diplomats, also spoke about the commitment and dedication to the advancement of the agenda for women, peace and security, as well as holding the second edition of the WPS Forum, which has transformed Kosovo into a regional leader in fulfillment of this agenda. Following Kosovo’s aspirations for sustainable economic growth and development, President Osmani also spoke about economic growth, direct investments, as well as the potential and successes of Kosovar youth in many fields in international presentations. Speaking about the Council of Europe membership process, President Osmani emphasized the importance of membership in this organization to increase the effectiveness of the protection of the rights of all our citizens without distinction, by giving them access to the human rights mechanisms. President Osmani emphasized that Kosovo needs further support from the respective states during the final phase as well, in the vote that may be held in May, in the Committee of Ministers.
President Osmani commemorated the hero Ismet Rraci on the 23rd anniversary of the murder
Ismet Rraci was a patriot, a prominent political activist and mayor of the municipality of Klinë, who made a valuable contribution to freedom, state building and to the institutional life. He was noted for his courage and patriotism, but his journey was cruelly cut short on April 23rd 2001, when he was treacherously murdered on his way to work. Our hero deserves justice, hence justice remains a must. Glory to the life and work of Ismet Rrac!
President Osmani congratulates the Turkish Community Day

The tradition, language and customs of the communities enrich Kosovo and promote understanding, tolerance and harmony.
