President Osmani commemorates hero Ilir Konushevci on the 26th anniversary of his fall

Ilir Konushevci, through his unique activity for the cause of the liberation war, is among the most important figures of the Kosovo Liberation Army, as one of the founders and leaders of its logistics sector. His murder, together with the doctor Hazir Mala in an organized ambush, was a serious loss for the KLA, precisely at the time of its organization and great expansion. Loyalty, honesty, courage and determination were the virtues of Ilir, who fell for the freedom of his people. Due to him and fellow fighters we are free today, so justice for him is a necessity and respect for the sublime sacrifice. May the memory of the hero Ilir Konushevci and doctor Hazir Mala live forever!
The President at the World Affairs Council in Dallas: Kosovo is today a success story of U.S. support

The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, had a substantive discussion at the World Affairs Council in Dallas. President Osmani met with the 43rd President of the United States, George W. Bush.

The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, who is on an official visit to Texas, USA, held a meeting with the 43rd President of the United States, George W. Bush, whom she thanked on behalf of the people of Kosovo for his extraordinary commitment to the freedom and independence of Kosovo as well as his continuous support to our country. President Osmani emphasized that President Bush was a strong supporter of Kosovo’s independence, a friend and ally of the people of Kosovo, noting that his legacy lives in every chapter of the Republic of Kosovo, which has its origins in the Christmas warning of President George H.W. Bush, his father. During the meeting at the Bush Institute in Dallas, President Osmani expressed deep gratitude to President Bush for his support and solidarity for Kosovo, highlighting the important role of his leadership in the declaration of independence. “Enough is enough. Kosovo is independent”, is the prophetic phrase of Kosovo’s independence by President Bush in Tirana in 2007, which will remain engraved in the annals of history as a firm affirmation of Kosovo’s right to be independent. “President Bush was the messenger of Kosovo’s independence”, emphasized President Osmani. Furthermore, President Osmani emphasized that Kosovo’s alliance with the United States is a testament to shared values and dedication to freedom and democracy. Meanwhile, President Bush spoke respectfully of Kosovo since its declaration of independence and its journey towards state-building, consolidation and strengthening of its international position. He reiterated his enduring friendship with Kosovo, expressing confidence in a more prosperous future where Kosovo is integrated into Euro-Atlantic structures.
President Osmani met with the Governor of Texas, Greg Abbott

President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, during her stay in Texas of the United States of America, met with the Governor of Texas, Greg Abbott. President Osmani’s full post: It was my pleasure to meet with Governor Greg Abbott, with whom we discussed deepening cooperation in the areas of trade, foreign investment, agriculture, information technology, education, and other areas of mutual interest. Texas has become the second home for our compatriots from Kosovo, offering them perspective, conditions for a quality life, and productive business. I thank the Governor for the Decision he handed me today, through which February 17th – our Independence Day is honoured and marked in Texas.
President Osmani commorates Commander Drini (Ekrem Rexha)

Commander Drini was a KLA fighter who remained loyal to the ideal of freedom and the state until his last breath. Freedom was his dream, and he was killed in front of his house shortly after Kosovo became free. He did not enjoy the freedom for long, but he made it possible together with many KLA girls and boys, so the memory and respect for him and fellow martyrs will be eternal. He left behind a legacy of an attested patriot and indomitable fighter, and as such will remain in the minds and hearts of every citizen of Kosovo. May the memory of Commander Drin be eternal!
President Vjosa Osmani commemorated the Battle of Çabrat

The battle of Çabrat represents the stoicism of the girls and boys of the 137 “Gjakova” Brigade, of the KLA Dukagjin Operative Zone, who defended the civilian population of Gjakova from the barbarism of the Serbian genocidal regime. In this battle, 26 KLA fighters died heroically, while the forces of the Serbian genocidal regime of Serbia brutally killed around 100 inhabitants and forcibly kidnapped over 300 others. Justice is our ongoing commitment. May the memory be eternal for all the martyrs of the KLA and for those who fell for freedom!
President Osmani at the US-Africa Summit, part of the celebration of the 20th anniversary of the MCC alongside senior American officials and African leaders

The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, at the US-Africa Summit and during the official visit to Texas- USA, at the central event held on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC), presented Kosovo’s path to date, and potentiated the successes in which the USA has played a decisive role. With the participation of President George W. Bush and in the presence of African leaders, the successes of 20 years of MCC’s transformative work were also discussed. In the special session moderated by Republican Senator Mike Johanns, President Osmani spoke, among other things, about the extraordinary partnership with the USA, in which case she emphasized in particular the successful cooperation with the MCC. President Osmani extended special gratitude for the excellent partnership with MCC, and expressed deep appreciation for the leadership of President Bush, whose legacy, according to her, is best reflected today through the work of MCC. Furthermore, President Osmani stated that: “The US has played a decisive role in the process of Kosovo’s independence. The cooperation between MCC and Kosovo symbolizes progress, ambition and a common vision for democracy and a stable future”. According to President Osmani, this partnership is proof of the strategic and historical relations between Kosovo and the USA. President Osmani pointed out that Kosovo has undertaken meaningful steps in the process of numerous reforms, with special emphasis on justice and the rule of law. In her address, President Osmani spoke about the steps taken by Kosovo in promoting economic growth and promoting sustainable development. According to President Osmani, there are extraordinary results achieved from the partnership with the MCC, which has helped the development of not only this sector, to proceed in the right direction. “The ambitious projects reflect a long-term vision for Kosovo, ensuring that our partnership with the MCC leads to positive and lasting changes,” said President Osmani. Among other things, President Osmani has emphasized that with the participation in this Summit, as well as with the ongoing assistance of the MCC, opportunities have been created to present Kosovo’s achievements over the years, but also to start a partnership with African countries.
President Osmani met with the President of Liberia, Joseph Boakai

The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, during her stay in Texas of the USA, met with the President of Liberia, Joseph Boakai. In the meeting, President Osmani and President Boakai discussed deepening cooperation between the two states. “Liberia has been among the first countries to recognize Kosovo back in 2008. With President Joseph Boakai, we discussed deepening cooperation between our two states in areas of mutual interest and the interest of our people”, President Osmani wrote.
President Osmani: MCC’s investments in Kosovo are investments for the future of Kosovo

The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani, upon an invitation by Chief Executive Officer of the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) Alice Albright, participated in the activities held on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the MCC, organized within the Summit USA-Africa in Dallas, Texas. At the executive table, which was attended by the Presidents of Liberia, Malawi and Cabo Verde, as well as with the Prime Ministers of Mauritania and Sierra Leone and numerous representatives of the American government, cooperation in addressing development challenges was discussed. President Osmani thanked Ms. Albright for the continuous support of the MCC for economic development in the energy sector in Kosovo. According to President Osmani, Kosovo, from a country destroyed by war, has transformed into an advanced democracy in the region, with a developing economy and reliable partners. “The partnership between the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) and the Republic of Kosovo has been a transformative journey, bringing significant benefits to the people of Kosovo and its economy, as well as marking a special chapter in bilateral relations”, emphasized President Osmani. Projects like this, for President Osmani, are confirmation of Kosovo’s special relationship with the USA. “Investments from the MCC are not only investments in infrastructure and economy, but an investment in the future of Kosovo, for the people and the stable partnership between Kosovo and the USA”, stated President Osmani. Furthermore, President Osmani emphasized that MCC’s support for Kosovo serves as a catalyst for economic development and attraction of investments. “The MCC programs in practice helped to transform lives, redesign policies and restore the link between the energy sector and the economy,” said President Osmani.
