On the 50th anniversary of the Seminar on Albanian Language, Literature and Culture, President Osmani hosted a group of albanologists from around the world

The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, received today a group of Albanologists from around the world on the 50th anniversary of the Seminar on Albanian Language, Literature and Culture. “On the 50th anniversary of the Seminar on Albanian Language, Literature and Culture, I hosted a group of albanologists from around the world, with whom we discussed the contribution of many generations, their willingness and determination to establish an institution for the cultivation of knowledge on the Albanian language, Albanian literature and culture”, wrote President Osmani.

President Osmani received the KFOR Commander Major General Özkan Ulutaş

The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani received today the KFOR Commander, Major General Özkan Ulutaş. The latest developments in the field of security, including the opening of the Ibër bridge, were discussed at the meeting. President Osmani reiterated her position that the issue of opening the bridge should not be a topic of dialogue process with Serbia. Madam President stipulated that the opening of the bridge, as an act of normalization and integration is in the interest of all citizens, irrespective of their ethnicity. In this regard, President Osmani stated the importance of consultations and coordination between our institutions and our security partners, especially NATO, in order to build a joint implementation plan for the opening the bridge to all traffic, which takes into consideration security assessments and the interests of our citizens. President Osmani thanked the KFOR Commander for his personal engagements, as well as all KFOR soldiers for maintaining peace and security in the country.

President Osmani visited the municipality of Viti

The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani visited the municipality of Viti, where she was received by the Mayor Sokol Haliti. Following the meeting with the Mayor, President Osmani participated in the feast of Our Lady in Letnica of Vitia. “In Vitia of hospitality, tradition, and harmony! Thank you, Mayor Sokol Haliti for today’s hospitality and discussions!” wrote President Osmani.   

President Osmani received the CEC chairman Kreshnik Radoniqi

The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani received today the chairman of the Central Election Commission, Kreshnik Radoniqi. The preparations and consultations being made to set the date of the regular parliamentary elections were discussed at the meeting. The CEC chairman informed President Osmani on the issues which, according to the CEC, are important to be considered during the evaluations related to the setting of the election date. The diaspora voting was also discussed, as well as the steps that should be taken in order to implement this right as defined by the new law. Madam President also emphasized the importance of carrying out all the necessary arrangements for easy access for people with special needs on election day. President Osmani also expressed confidence that the CEC, as an institution responsible for the administration of elections, will take all the appropriate actions and within the specified deadlines for the election process to be carried out respecting the rights of citizens as well as the highest democratic standards.

President Osmani received the US Ambassador Jeffrey Hovenier

The President of the Republic of Kosovo,Vjosa Osmani received the Ambassador of the United States of America, Jeffrey Hovenier. At the meeting, President Osmani and Ambassador Hovenier discussed the latest developments in the country, with special emphasis on the field of security, as well as the ongoing engagements to further consolidate the international position of the Republic of Kosovo. The progress of the consultation process on the setting of the date of the regular parliamentary elections and the full dedication to guaranteeing a democratic and successful electoral process were also discussed. Continuous expansion of bilateral relations and regular coordination on topics of national interest were also part of the discussions at today’s meeting.

The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani congratulated the International Youth Day. “Youth – the greatest potential of our country, a source of creativity, inexhaustible energy and love for the country. From Olympic podiums to world competitions in science, our young people are the most brilliant image of Kosovo. Congratulations on International Youth Day!” wrote President Osmani.  

President Osmani: Raising of the status of Kosovo in the Francophonie, a triumph for Francophone values

The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani received today the representative of the International Organization of the Francophonie (ONF) for Central and Eastern Europe Eric Pope, who is visiting Kosovo following the application made by our Republic to this organization. President Osmani reaffirmed Kosovo’s commitment to francophone values, stressing the importance of raising of Kosovo’s status in ONF from observer to full member status. President Osmani emphasized that Kosovo is an example of the protection and promotion of the basic rights and freedoms of all citizens without distinction, the strengthening of democracy and the rule of law. “Youth is the greatest potential of Kosovo, and with proven talent in entrepreneurship and innovation, it is an example to the region and beyond”, emphasized President Osmani and informed Mr. Pope on the advancement of the agenda for Women, Peace and Security, where Kosovo has become a positive example at the global level. In this spirit, President Osmani pointed out that through raising of the status of Kosovo in the ONF, cooperation with other member states will expand in sustainable development, the promotion of cultural and linguistic diversity, education and scientific research, as well as in other areas of mutual interest. Madam President and Mr. Pope also discussed the Francophonie summit in October, where Kosovo will be represented by President Osmani.
