Honourable citizens of the Republic of Kosovo, Dear diaspora, Honourable international friends of our country, The clock is rapidly moving towards midnight, and as we stand on the threshold of a new year, I express my warmest wishes for health, happiness and prosperity for you and your families. Days like this are special. They make us look back on the path of the year we are leaving behind, firmly hoping that we have done our best and wishing that in the coming year we will act and work even better. Indeed, the year 2024 has not always been easy – we have been faced with challenges, ranging from economy to security. But, we stood firm, side by side, overcoming obstacles with unwavering determination. These challenges remind us of our responsibility to preserve our state, our sovereignty, and our peace for future generations. And despite the difficult situations, we once again demonstrated our resilience and dedication to forge new paths and eliminate obstacles on our collective journey. We demonstrated this best when our films reached the Cannes Film Festival and when we received a Special Award at the Venice Biennale; when our judokas won two Olympic medals at the Paris Olympic Games, when Kosovo won gold medals at festivals in Spain, and likewise, when we reaped continuous successes in the fields of Information Technology, innovation, and when Kosovo businesses penetrated international markets. This year, we strengthened the security sector, established new friendships, and ensured Kosovo’s participation and representation at the largest and most important global forums, events, and summits. We proved to the world that Kosovo has extraordinary potential and that our people always shine when given equal opportunities. Kosovo, as an example of the most developed democracy in the region, has proven that with hard work and continuous engagements, a just and equal society can be built for all. Our dream of an even more prosperous Kosovo, with greater dignity, and even more opportunities and well-being for every family continues. The path may be difficult, but we know that no dream is unattainable when we are together, and when courage, healthy ambition, and principles guide us. As we step into 2025, we will continue to walk with confident steps towards the Euro-Atlantic family, securing our future as contributors to global peace, stability, and democracy. And while our vision remains unwavering, my thoughts and hearts today are with all those who, for one reason or another, are awaiting the new year without their loved ones by their side; with all those who are fighting hard for their lives; with all the workers on the front-line services; and with all the everyday heroes and heroines of the year we are leaving behind. As we prepare to raise our glasses, I hope that 2025 will bring peace where war reigns; bring calm where there is no comfort; bring health where there is a struggle with illness; bring security to homes under whose roofs violence unfortunately still finds shelter; bring equality – equality in opportunities, in representation; treatment and respect. Tonight, as we wait for midnight, let us move forward with the experience and lessons gained in the year we are leaving behind. Let us enter the 2025 with hope, determination and commitment. Kosovo is our common home and together, on each and every day, we will continue our engagements to make it a place of even greater opportunities, dignity and pride. Happy New Year, dear citizens! I wish that the year 2025 will bring joy, success and endless opportunities to you and your families! And last but not least, a message to our diaspora: These days, not only the streets have been filled, but also smiles, joy and happiness have also grown. To all our diaspora who are spending this end of the year in their homeland, the warmest and most sincere congratulations. These are the best moments to share the joy of the holidays with those you love most. Kosovo remains your permanent home. May you have good health and happiness, wherever you are! With President’s Osmani commitment, Kosovo is officially recognized by Amazon and listed on all of its platforms
Kosovo has been officially recognized by Amazon and is now included in all its platforms. By being included in all Amazon platforms, the Republic of Kosovo marks an important moment in the development and digital transformation of the country. This achievement comes as a result of high-level meetings held in October of this year, between the President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani, and representatives of Amazon in Washington D.C., USA. These discussions are also part of the ongoing efforts undertaken by the Digital Diplomacy Task Force, an initiative of the American Chamber of Commerce in Kosovo, supported by the US Embassy in Prishtina. Presence on Amazon platforms enables Kosovar individuals and businesses to expand their reach and present local products to a global audience on amazon.com, boosting economic growth and innovation. This development also facilitates access for consumers, who can connect seamlessly to one of the largest e-commerce platforms in the world, as well as the use of services such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Amazon Alexa, etc. This development is a clear testament to the power of diplomacy and public-private cooperation in advancing the economic interests and development of Kosovo. President Osmani, in collaboration with the American Chamber of Commerce, is continuing the meetings with other key digital platforms, which are essential for the development of the business sector in the country and the digital ecosystem as a whole.

President Osmani wrote: On the eve of the new year, we visited the Regional Police Directorate in North Mitrovica, where I had the opportunity to express my deep gratitude to the women and men in uniform for their tireless work and dedication. During this challenging year, they were the pillar of security and the unwavering defender of the sovereignty and integrity of our Republic. Thanks to their dedication, our state stands invincible in the face of every challenge. During this visit, we shared moments of joy with our youngest, on the New Year’s holiday, and together with them we visited the recently opened businesses in the north that are contributing not only to the city’s economy, but also to the integration of all citizens, without distinction. To all children and their families, of all ethnicities, I cordially wish you a Happy New Year, full of good health, prosperity and success! May 2025 be a year of peace and prosperity for all!

Today we honour and bow down with great respect to the heroic deed of the veterans of the Kosovo Liberation Army – the men and women who sacrificed everything for the freedom of the homeland. December 30th is a date that embodies the immortal heroism of the legendary commander Adem Jashari and his family, who on December 30th, 1991 fought the first battle against the Serbian regime. This battle was not just an armed confrontation, but an act of courage that marked the beginning of a new era in the struggle for freedom and statehood. They were joined by thousands of men and women who stood up for their homeland in the most difficult times, thus becoming the emblem of our state. Eternal glory to the martyrs of the nation and eternal respect to every KLA veteran!

President Vjosa Osmani’s address at the end-of-year reception with the Community Consultative Council
Honourable guests, members of the Consultative Council for Communities, Dear children, Dear Presidency staff, Warmest greetings to you all and welcome to this special day, which marks not only the end of a year, but also the beginning of our reflections and goals for the future. Tonight, we are here, united, regardless of ethnicity, language or faith, to celebrate together and wish for a new year filled with peace, harmony and success. Kosovo is the country of all its citizens without distinction, but above all, it belongs to future generations – to our children. Your presence here today, especially children of all communities, gives us hope and reminds us that the future of our country can only be built in a spirit of cooperation and understanding. Today, I would like to thank you with deep gratitude for your work and your commitment during this year. The importance of the Consultative Council for Communities is not measured only by the number of activities or initiatives, but by the impact that this Council has in strengthening equality and justice for all our citizens. With your work, you have shown that equality and respect between communities is an achievable reality. Your work has been closely and carefully followed by my representative on the Council, Ms. Donika Kadaj, who has regularly informed me of all your engagements. I would like to convey my greetings to all of you on your new two-year mandate, which will certainly serve as a period filled with work and valuable results for all communities living in Kosovo. There were also important achievements in the previous Council, but this evening, in addition to the celebration, may this also serve as an opportunity to reflect on our cooperation. At the beginning of next year, we have also planned a meeting where each of you will have the opportunity to share your thoughts and concerns directly with me as President. Because, I strongly believe that open and honest dialogue is the key to our mutual success. In conclusion, let me thank you once again for your presence! I wish you a year filled with good health, joy and success! Let us continue to work together for a better Kosovo, where all communities feel equal, respected and empowered! The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, received today in a farewell meeting the Ambassador of the United States of America to Kosovo, Jeffrey Hovenier. “A stone from Trepça as a symbol of the free, independent and indivisible land of Kosovo, a mission on which Ambassador Hovenier engaged for more than two decades. At the same time, a symbol of the continuation of the tradition and legacy of President Rugova, who laid the strong foundations of Kosovo’s statehood and of the eternal friendship with the United States,” wrote President Osmani.
President Vjosa Osmani, upon the proposal of the Kosovo Prosecutorial Council, decrees twenty-four new prosecutors
President Vjosa Osmani, upon the proposal of the Kosovo Prosecutorial Council, has decreed today twenty-four (24) prosecutors, almost half of them women. At the swearing-in ceremony in front of the President of the Republic, the new prosecutors swore that: “they will remain loyal to the Constitution of the Republic of Kosovo, the laws in force, and will respect the rules of professional ethics”. President Osmani, among others, emphasized the importance of the integrity, independence, impartiality and professionalism of prosecutors, as essential elements for a system that guarantees justice for all citizens of Kosovo, and at the same time called on the new prosecutors not to compromise on crime and corruption.
