On the 26th anniversary of the Studime massacre in Vushtrri, we respectfully commemorate 116 women, children, and the elderly – killed within two hours by the Serbian genocidal Serbian, just because they were Albanians. The wounds of that terrible day will never heal, but the truth about the atrocities committed will be kept alive and will be passed down from generation to generation. Remembering them is an obligation, justice is our goal, and the martyrs are an eternal testament to our freedom. May the memory of the Studime martyrs be eternal!

The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani, who is visiting Malaysia, was received today with high state honors by Prime Minister Anwar bin Ibrahim, at the “Perdana Putra” Government Complex in Putrajaya. At the meeting, President Osmani thanked Prime Minister Anwar for the unwavering support that Malaysia has given to the Republic of Kosovo, emphasizing that Malaysia was among the first countries in the world to recognize the independence of Kosovo in 2008. President Osmani also thanked Prime Minister Anwar for the abolishment of visas for the citizens of Kosovo, emphasizing that this decision will open new opportunities for strengthening ties between the citizens of the two countries, but also in cooperation in areas of common interest. President Osmani praised Malaysia’s contribution in key periods of Kosovo’s state-building, from the post-war period to date, and thanked Prime Minister Anwar for his continued support for strengthening Kosovo’s position in the international arena. In gratitude for the recognition and contribution of the Malaysian state to Kosovo’s independence, the state-building process, and its commitment to strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries, President Osmani awarded the Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim the Order of Independence. Opportunities for cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, innovation, tourism, and other areas of mutual interest were discussed during the meeting. In this context, President Osmani raised the need for the holding of a Kosovo-Malaysia economic forum. The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, has traveled to the Federation of Malaysia on an official visit at the invitation of Prime Minister YAB Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim. In Kuala Lumpur, President Osmani will be received with an official ceremony at the Bunga Raya state complex. During this visit, President Osmani will meet with Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim at the Perdana Putra Government Complex in Putrajaya, followed by a joint press conference. In honor of President Osmani, Prime Minister Ibrahim will lay an official lunch at the Seri Perdana state residence. As part of this visit, President Osmani will award the current Prime Minister of Malaysia, Anwar Ibrahim and the former Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, with Presidential Medals of Merit, in recognition of their contribution in support of Kosovo. President Osmani, in the presence of the diplomatic corps and other guests, will officially open the Embassy of the Republic of Kosovo in Kuala Lumpur, an important step in strengthening Kosovo’s diplomatic presence in the Southeast Asian region. President Osmani will also hold meetings with representatives of the National Chamber of Commerce and Investment of Malaysia (NCCIM), and with representatives of important sectors of the Malaysian economy, including manufacturing, technology and tourism. On this occasion, concrete opportunities for economic cooperation between the two countries and attracting investments in Kosovo will be discussed. President Osmani commemorated the 26th anniversary of the Massacre in Shtuticë, Vërbovc and the surrounding Drenas villages
26 years ago, the land of Drenica was covered by a pain that never fades. In Shtuticë, Vërbovc and the surrounding villages, the Serbian genocidal regime barbarically executed 275 Albanians: innocent children, the elderly, women and men just because they were Albanians and wanted freedom. This massacre, one of the most terrible ones during the war, remains an open wound in the conscience of humanity and an act that cries out for justice. This macabre crime was an attempt to exterminate the population of this area. But on that day, when the monstrous crime took the lives of many Albanians, the light of freedom was kept alive by the KLA fighters, led by the heroic Ilaz Kodra. They did not retreat, they did not surrender. They became a shield for the people, with 40 of them immortalizing our freedom with their blood. Today, we do not only commemorate the martyrs of this massacre, but we honor the resistance, sacrifice and dignity of those who fell to win our freedom today. May the glory of the KLA martyrs and the memory of the martyrs of Shtuticë, Vërbovc, Drenicë and all of Kosovo be eternal!
