World leaders congratulate President Jahjaga on the sixth anniversary of the Independence of Republic of Kosovo

On the occasion of the sixth anniversary of the independence of Kosovo, President of the Republic of Kosovo, Mrs. Atifete Jahjaga, received many congratulatory telegrams from the various world leaders. Following are the telegrams sent to President Jahjaga:

US President, Mr. Barak Obama, in his felicitatory telegram states:

 “Honourable Madam President”,

 “On behalf of American people, I have the pleasure to congratulate the people of Kosovo the sixth anniversary of your independence, on February 17th. United States of America continue to support further development of Kosovo and its growth as a sovereign, independent and multi ethnic democracy. Kosovo must be proud of its general progress in the last six years, especially with the historic achievements of 2013, inclusive of April Agreement with Serbia on normalisation of relations and advances made at the dialogue facilitated by EU. We remain dedicated to supporting of your progress towards full Euro-Atlantic integration and building of a brighter future for all the citizens of Kosovo”.

Congratulating the citizens of Kosovo on the Independence anniversary, President of the Republic of Germany, Mr. Joachim Gauck, among other said:

 “I am convinced that Kosovo will continue in a consequential manner its policy towards European Union and the path of internal reforms. In relation to this, Germany will support your country in the future as a trusted partner.

Last year Kosovo and Serbia have jointly undertaken important steps. The first agreement on normalisation of relations between the two countries of April 19th 2013, and its implementation is a historic success, which must serve as a guideline for the future. In this spirit, I encourage  you to continue to move ahead on the path of reconciliation and peaceful  and cooperative coexistence of people of Kosovo, regardless of their ethnic background. Our discussion in Berlin last year convinces me that this is in safe hands with you”.

President of Republic of Italy, Mr. Giorgio Napolitano, in his felicitatory telegram to President Jahjaga, conveys his mist sincere wishes for prosperity:

“Relations between our two countries have known intensification based on the engagements that Italy has undertaken by Italy in support of the stability, development and strengthening of democratic institutions of Kosovo. Italy’s meaningful participation in the KFOR Mission demonstrates the most concrete proof. IN the future as well, Prishtina may continue to count on the support of Rome on regional dialogue and its path of European Union integration”.

President of the Republic of Austria, Mr Heinz Fischer, congratulated President of the Republic of Kosovo on the Independence Day.

“On the Independence Day of the Republic of Kosovo, I have the pleasure to convey my most cordial wishes, I use the opportunity to convey my best wishes for your wellbeing and also for a prosperous future for the Republic of Kosovo and all of its citizens” .

President of the Republic of Hungary, Mr. Janos Ader, on his congratulatory telegram on
The occasion of the Independence Day of Republic of Kosovo says:

“I have the pleasure to praise the continuous advancement of the relations between of our two states in the last six years. I can confirm that Hungary will continue to, in the future, expansion of relations and cooperation between our two countries. I welcome the decision which has enabled Kosovo to, lately; commence the negotiations with European Union on Stabilisation Association Agreement. On this occasion I would like to reiterate the position of Hungary in support of the endeavours of your country towards progress in European integrations”.

President of the Republic of Croatia, Mr. Ivo Josipovic, on the sixth anniversary of the Independence of Kosovo, on behalf of the citizens of Croatia, congratulates all the citizens of Kosovo.

“I am confident that our strong and sincere friendship and partnership which connects us and which we have demonstrated also with the exchange of visits last year, will continue to strengthen in benefit of all the citizens of both our countries”.

President of the Republic of Macedonia, Mr. Gjorge Ivanov, at his felicitatory telegram conveyed his felicitations and wishes for the wellbeing and prosperity of the people of Kosovo.

“On this joyful occasion, I would like to express the satisfaction for the high level of amicable relations and cooperation between our two countries. I am convinced that the cooperation between our countries will not only continue but that it shall be expanded in all fields of mutual interest. I would like to underline our full readiness in this matter”.

 Felicitatory telegrams on the occasion of the sixth anniversary of the Independence of Kosovo were also sent by Elisabeth II, Queen of United Kingdom and Northern Ireland as well as the King of Netherlands, Willem-Alexander.
