On the occasion of June 12, the day when Kosovo was liberated and peace arrived, we honoured the emblematic figures who contributed to our freedom.
The historic president Dr. Ibrahim Rugova, the architect of our independence was the man who kept alive the hope for freedom and built friendships and alliances which Kosovo still needs today.
We were also in Prekaz, where the roots of our freedom lie. We honoured the sacrifice of the legendary commander Adem Jashari and his family, as well as all the KLA martyrs who sealed our freedom.
Today we also honoured the symbol of self-denial, the activist Adem Demaçi, who dedicated his whole life to the national cause.
NATO troops also made a valuable contribution to our freedom, to which the people of Kosovo will always be grateful. We placed flowers on the memorial plaque honouring NATO soldiers, expressing our permanent gratitude.
