The President: there can be no lasting peace without bringing to light the fate of those forcibly disappeared since the last war in Kosovo

The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani Sadriu accompanied by the Prime Minister of Kosovo Albin Kurti, ministers, MPs, members of the diplomatic corps and family members of those who forcibly disappeared since the last war in Kosovo, have paid tribute at the missing persons' obelisk on the occasion of August 30th, the International Day of Missing Persons.

President Osmani said that “they are our collective pain and memory.” They are the evidence of the Serbian genocidal regime's attempt to exterminate us. Above all, they are hostages to our freedom, hence bringing their fate to light is our daily dedication”.

According to President Osmani, there can be no lasting peace without bringing to light the fate of those forcibly disappeared since the last war in Kosovo.

Below you will find the complete post of President Osmani:

On the International Day of the Disappeared, family members, as well as all of Kosovo, are still waiting for the fate of more than 1,600 people who disappeared violently during the last war in Kosovo to be revealed.

They are our collective pain and memory. They are the evidence of the Serbian genocidal regime's attempt to exterminate us. Above all, they are hostages to our freedom, hence bringing their fate to light is our daily dedication.

There can be no lasting peace without bringing to light the fate of those forcibly disappeared since the last war in Kosovo. We are dedicated and determined to bring their fate to light, the truth to prevail and justice to triumph.
