The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, pursuant to her constitutional and legal powers, at the end of his service in Kosovo, awarded today the US Deputy Ambassador Mr. Nicholas J. Giacobbe the “Dr. Ibrahim Rugova” Order, which is awarded to individuals for their contribution to peacebuilding or development of democracy.
At the awarding ceremony, President Osmani highly praised Mr. Giacobbe's work and engagement during his tenure in Kosovo.
“Mr. Giacobbe, with his unparalleled dedication, made a valuable contribution to the advancement of democracy and peace in Kosovo. He has also provided extraordinary contribution to the strengthening of amicable relations between the Republic of Kosovo and the United States of America”, emphasized President Osmani at the awarding ceremony.
President Osmani expressed her conviction that the eternal friendship with the USA will also continue to be nurtured and maintained by Mr. Giacobbe's successor. Deputy Ambassador Giacobbe thanked President Osmani for the excellent cooperation, despite the challenging times of the Covid-19 pandemic.
