The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Madam Atifete Jahjaga, after the meetings with the leaders of the parliamentary political parties, issues this statement to the public:
“I have met today during the day, two of the leaders of the parliamentary political parties, the President of the PDK, Hashim Thaçi, and the President of the LDK, Isa Mustafa, and I have developed a telephone conversation with the President of AAK, Ramush Haradinaj, to address the issue of the building the institutions of the country.
I have requested from the three leaders, and I request from all the other party leaders as well, to show political maturity and, by leaving aside the differences between them and the narrow interests, to act quickly for the building of the institutions, the constitution of the Parliament and the formation of the newgovernment.
The leaders of the parliamentary political parties must act quickly to ensure the sustainability of the country.
We have to show commitment to build the state of law, while respecting our constitutional framework.
I am committed that, by guaranteeing the constitutionality and the legality in the country, to apply precisely the decisions of the Constitutional Court.
The new institutions should be built in accordance with the Constitution of the Republic of Kosovo.
We must guarantee that with the new institutions we will fulfill every obligation to our citizens and also the obligations towards the international community, the partnership with which is crucial for the country”.
Political dialogue is important for the strengthening of internal democracy and it must be developed, despite the disagreements, in the interests of the citizens and the advancement of the general processes in the country.
